This. He got doubled for most snaps and even tripled at times and still got decent pressure and produced 5 sacks. His technique needs improving but he has ALL the tools to be a good rusher from the 1 tech.

It's ridiculous when you're watching tape on Star. Against the run he doesn't get pushed back, even when doubled. On passing downs he gets his hands up and moves the pocket even when doubled. Then when he gets a one on one he destroys the lineman and blows up the play or rushes the QB.

May God have mercy on the souls of the QB's we face if our secondary plays to an average level because they wont get to step up in the pocket like they've been able to for 8+ years anymore.

Let's wait until he's on an NFL field until we anoint him. I remember people being excited about a certain "potential franchise QB" falling to us in 2010.

He makes effort sacks by pushing opponents into the Quarterback and making the play. Usually you don't see him use one or two moves to get at the QB. I think he could eventually be that, but for now we have exactly what we need in a run stuffer to occupy blockers....

Oh, absolutely and I posted as much in another thread. It's just I think he'll be much better at rushing the passer in the NFL. Maybe not as a rookie but I can definitely see it from year 2 on.

He isn't much a of a pass rusher...pretty sure he even admits it. He isn't here to be that that so it doesn't matter. He is here so we aren't a joke up the middle and to actually make people around him better.....which we haven't had in years.

Watch 4 games of Star and Floyd each...and one of them penetrates and goes after the QB. Sacks don't really tell the full story.

Like the pick, just fail to see how in passing situations anyone would debate doubling him anytime soon

Leave the man one on one and he will get sacks. Not cause he is a pass rusher but because one man can't stop him.
