The Day 2 Safety/Wide Receiver Market

I guess in the chance that Hunter is gone when we pick, I'll take Robert Woods.

Please no. Just say no to USC skill position players. When is the last time one worked out? Carson Palmer maybe?

Since Palmer...

WR Keary Colbert - BUST

RB Justin Fargas - one 1000 yard season and 3300 career rushing yards for a 3rd rounder... BUST

QB Matt Cassel - I'll call him a good pick for a 7th rounder

WR Mike Williams - BUST

TE Dominique Byrd - BUST

RB Lendale White - BUST

QB Matt Leinart - BUST

RB Reggie Bush - based on expectations and draft position... BUST

WR Steve Smith - one good season for the Giants, but looking like... BUST

WR Dwayne Jarrett - BUST

TE Fred Davis - meh

WR Patrick Turner - BUST

QB Mark Sanchez - LOL!

I'll leave out more recent picks as the jury is still out, but let's just say it ain't looking good. For the most part I don't like labeling guys based on where they went to school, but the evidence against USC skill position guys is pretty damn strong. We've already swung and missed on two USC WRs with 2cd round picks in recent years. I'd prefer to go a different direction with #44.

If a WR isn't picked tomorrow they aren't going to take one it would be a waste of a pick. We have Ginn, Hixon, Gettis, Pilares, Adams, Edwards, Bryant, with smitty and lafell as the starters. A 4th or 5th round receiver wouldn't even make the roster.
