I think this whole debate is a great example of how groups get so entrenched in their arguments that they lose the ability to think clearly. (not pointing fingers at anyone in this thread, but just making a broad observation)

Some Christians will get so defensive on the subject that they forget the teachings. furthermore, if you break it down and ask "do you think trees sprouted, matured, produced seeds, sprouted a new generation of trees, and covered much of the earth in 24 hours?" I'd bet most, if not all, will say no.

But come at a Christian with "lol u can't think critically u just blindly follow a fairy tale lol lol lol" Do you really expect an actual, thought out response?

And Christians, someone figuring out the methods to the madness does not mean what you believe has been attacked. Personally I don't look for ways to discredit science. I look at how science and the Bible blend together. I'm not saying the Bible is a science book, but there are some eerie similarities. I don't look at the Bible as a history of mankind. I look at it as a history of Judeo Christianity.

Open discussion is fine, however my problem is, this thread was created to degrade an entire religion imo. That is what I find upsetting not the fact that some people believe different things then I do.

You can't degrade something that degrades itself by condoning slavery, rape, infanticide, genocide, etc. Religion is not safe from scrutiny nor is it safe from mockery. Get over it.

The reason this thread was created was to highlight the de-education and promotion of misinformation that is going on in schools. Just to give another example of this crazy bullshit, here is another example:

The reason this is important is because families there receive public funds (vouchers) that help pay their student's tuition there. So, essentially, public money is funding this crap.

There is a reason why evolution and the big bang remain theories. Just because you believe something doesnt make you right

You say theory, but that word doesn't mean what you think it means. A theory is the highest level of scientific achievement. Gravity is a theory, for example. Theories explain facts.

Once again, you prove that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of science.

Misinformation isn't an opinion here. Teaching kids that dinosaurs lived with humans, that the lochness monster exists, that the earth is only 6000-10000 years old, etc. is, in fact, misinformation.

God of the bible condones those things. He orders for armies of people to go in and kill men, women, and children. "Happy is he who dasheth the little ones against the rocks" is one quote. Or the command during raids to rip open pregnant women to kill the babies. Or how god of the bible explains, various times (and the NT continues this idea) how to own, sell, and beat your slaves properly (you can beat them as long as they don't die, according to the bible).

These things are condoned by the god of the bible. Rationalize it how you want, but if you believe the bible to be the inherent word of god, you can't ignore those facts.

No, a theory explains how things work using the observable facts. For something to reach the level of theory in science is to reach the highest level of science. Theory of relativity, atomic theory, cell theory, germ theory, theory of plate tectonics, theory of molecular bonds, and the list goes on and on. ALL of these theories inform VERY important things for us (including medicine). These theories are testable and repeatable. They work, that is why they are theories. Evolution is no different.

Seriously, educate yourself in science before you start saying stupid poo.
