4th Grade Quiz in SC

Happy Panther

Recommended Posts

The DVD was produced by Ken Ham, the founder of the Creationist Museum. Mr. Ham has been criticized for putting fundraising over everything else. In short, he preys on dumb people in Kentucky.

Also "were you there?" is basically his motto.

Since 1989, Ham has frequently made the comment, "Were you there?" regarding the origins of life and evolution,[30]  implying that knowledge of unwitnessed events isinferential  and not observational.

Also, reviews of the DVD set called Genesis Dinosaurs and the Gospel (the name of the quiz) talk about how Mr. Ham quizzes kids in the included workbook.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to buy the damn thing.

1,2,3 not it.

The only reason i posted is because people think it is ok to openly question and belittle other peoples beliefs. If its the way you feel thats fine. I will not agree with you and you insulting me is not going to change that. If you can explain where a tiny particle and a whole hell of a lot of energy came from and randomly came together to create an entire universe with a planet the exact distance from a sun to support life then i am all ears, but for something to happen sooooooo randomly and yet soooo perfectly is not something i will ever comprehend. Like I said im not going to change your mind or you mine. But i will never say what you believe is stupid even though i disagree. Because that is disrespecting the person not the belief. again this isnt the forum for this discussion.

It is OK to openly question and criticize other people's beliefs.

I'm not a cosmologist. I'm not a scientist of any flavor. Go ask an astronomer. There are plenty of places to look. The best thing I can think of off the top of my head is this site: http://www.talkorigi...my/bigbang.html

Even a quick read from the beginning will clear up some of your misconceptions.

Also, we're not set up "perfectly". We could be a little closer to the sun or a little farther away without any real effect...because the Earth moves at least a couple thousand km closer or farther from the sun almost yearly.

Also, the sun is our main light source. It also gives us cancer if we are outside and exposed to it too much. Perfect, my ass.

Like I said not going to argue with you, but if you guys were acting this way about something to do with a race or a gay group you'd be banned from the board. You can say its different, but it is not. Not responding anymore on this topic so comment however you like.

Equating criticism of a religion (not the religious themselves, however) with criticism of race or sexual orientation is literally retarded. I find religion to be voluntary, gleeful, willful ignorance. This is based on the fact that religion is centered on believing in something very extraordinary with exactly zero evidence to support it and the goal of the religion is to get people to believe it and/or act on the teachings of that religion, regardless of the moral standing of those teachings (see also: the argument that a specific religion's god's morality overrides our own).

The ONLY reason to criticize somebody's race or sexual orientation is bigotry (literally, there is no other reason). Big difference.

Also, I like how I give you a reasonable, factual response to your complete ignorance of science and how our universe and world is set up, with solid information on the BBT, and you completely ignore that to continue on with your conflation of criticism of religion with criticism of the religious. Criticism of an idea is perfectly fine. And that is what religion is, an idea.

It's as if somebody criticized a sport, and you get upset because you think they're criticizing all fans of the sport. Or if they criticized your team, and you think they're criticizing you in particular. If you can't separate yourself from your beliefs and understand that just because you hold a belief that is being criticized, you're not necessarily being criticized yourself (or any other believer of that belief).

I know I said I wouldnt post again but couldnt help myself. Someones religion is apart of who they are, just like someones race or sexual orientation. I will say it again, if you guys were openly bashing someones sexual orientation you would be banned from the board. Just because you justify it doesnt mean its right. If you openly said, the idea of being gay is retarded you would be banned, point blank, period. There is NO DIFFERENCE. Your religion, your race, your sexual orientation all comes together to make you, you. If you were on this board attacking anyone elses beliefs or lifestyle (yes that is EXACTLY what you're doing) Id be saying the same thing. So dont you dare call me pompous when you choose to belittle someone else who does not share your train of thought. Ill leave it at that. Im not trying to convert you to anything, but your rationale that you arent attacking the person, just the idea, is flat out wrong.

You can fully support gay marriage, gay rights, etc. and still state your opinion that ascots are the stupidest male fashion accessory.

But this is a completely different realm of dumb. If I came on here and believed that planes flew due to the magic fairy dust sprinkled on them at the Airbus factory, I'd deserve to be taken apart by anyone here. This is exactly the same so just let it go.

religion is enculturated through the process of socialization. race is phenotypically acquired as a biological manifestation.

if you can't see the difference in the ways either one is "a part of who you are" there is no point in continuing discussion.
