Panthers want Star

No way that Star or Austin fall to us. 2 of the greatest talents in the entire fuggin draft. For those of you not paying attention, there isn't much talent in this class. Very hard to imagine 2 of the most dynamic players falling to 14.

Just for shits and giggles, even if either fell to 12 or 13 somebody will trade up knowing what our needs are and ****** them right up.

Tomorrow night will be interesting, and I'm looking fwd to it, but I'm not on drugs thinking that we'll land either Austin or Star. Would be awesome though, I'm not gonna lie. I just give it a 1% chance of coming to fruition

Sadly, over the years I have been FORCED to temper my expectations to almost zero, that way when something does go our way I can scream like a school girl in excitement.

I agree completely. I think one of the top 2 DT's (Lotulelei or Floyd ) will be there. I think there will be a run on quarterbacks before we get to pick causing one of top two DT's to fall. I predict at least 2 to 3 quarterbacks will be gone. Despite the reach it is a quarterback driven league. You don't have a chance at a dynasty without a franchise quaterback. Tavon will be gone too.

I can't disagree with you. You're right on the mark. Floyd is good but have been overhyped. I see three OTs going in the top 5; could eventually be three straight OTs 1, 2, 3. Someone will reach for a Tavon and a CB bc of its weak class (deep but no superstar). That will force a Star or Floyd to be there at 14. The one who's lucky to be pick first will be a top10 pick, the one who isn't will be a Panther.

One sexy draft would be Star and Short DT problem sloved.

based on the 2012 almost won games, with 2 elite DTs the road to the superbowl will be open again.

1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers L 10–16

2 New Orleans Saints W 35–27

3 New York Giants L 7–36

4 at Atlanta Falcons L 28–30

5 Seattle Seahawks L 12–16

6 Bye

7 Dallas Cowboys L 14–19

8 at Chicago Bears L 22–23

9 at Washington Redskins W 21–13

10 Denver Broncos L 14–36

11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers L 21–27 (OT)

12 at Philadelphia Eagles W 30–22

13 at Kansas City Chiefs L 21–27

14 Atlanta Falcons W 30–20

15 at San Diego Chargers W 31–7

16 Oakland Raiders W 17–6 6–9

17 at New Orleans Saints W 44–38

But we lost all of those highlighted games because of bad safety play...

I'm getting to the point in my mind where if we actually land Star (about a 5% possibility, "so you're saying there's a chance" kind of deal) that we draft a safety in the second. I've been wanting WR in the first two rounds. But imagine if we landed Star and a instant upgrade at safety. Our defense would be deadly and at the same time taking more pressure off of the offense/Cam.

Corners would be our only liability but from what Gettleman has been saying (specifically Josh Norman) I think we would be ok there.

Just something to think about.

Anyone else regret those last couple of wins to end the season? 1 or 2 less, and I'd like our options a lot better.

At this point, I think I've shifted towards Austin as my preferred pick, and I'd love Star as well... BUT, I just don't think either of them will be available at this point.

the bigger issue in the Denver and NY games were the fact that the OLine could not protect Cam...nor open holes.

So, if you want to improve the offense.....a pick at OT or OG would be more beneficial than a slot WR.

Yes Sir you hit the spot.

Big boys allow you to compete right?

Ive been thinking about two defensive picks with our 1 & 2 as well.

I for one feel like our saftey situation is better than our cornerback's. If i am not mistaken, we are moving Godfrey back to his more natural FreeSafty position next year. He did very well at the end last year at FS. We brought in Mitchel who was one of the better downhill tackling safteys last year, right? If you plug that dude in SS i feel he would be pretty solid for us there. We got out pass defender in Godfrey and oir run stopper in Mitchell.

As for our cornerbacks, i am confident Norman will bounch back. But besides him, who do we got? Munny needs to stay on the slot guy, as that is where he does his best.

I feel like our defense would be serious if we were able to land Star with a CB in the 2nd

I'm down with that. I still love Allen but I seem to be one of the few people in the world who would take him at 14. Trading back or landing Star seems to be out best bet right now.

Ya I think you are the only person. I absolutely would hate it if we draft him.

Saints and Dallas both want Vaccaro. Don't be surprise if we trade with Dallas.

"I won't try to talk myself out of not taking a good player", Gettleman said in his press conference. Vaccaro plays a position of need on our team and if he's there at 14 I think we are going to take him. Personally I wouldn't mind trading back just as long as we still can take Deandre Hopkins. There are a lot of players I love in this class though.
