Steve referred to Jordan Senn as "The Senn Master". That's great.

Said Colin Cole was in Charlotte training and recovering from a broken ankle this off-season. Cole didn't even have an agent and called up the Panthers and got himself a work out and Steve said he just killed it at the workout and they signed him right there. Says he is a quiet guy that just goes about his business but will surprise some people this season.

89 said that Florence will start at one of CB positions while the rest battle it out for the other. Sounded pretty confident in that assertion.

High praise for Senn, Blackburn, Hogue, and Colin Jones in the special teams department. Referred to them all as "special team aces."

Steve felt like there is no competition at the #2 wr spot.

Thanks for starting this thread. Very excited about the news about Cole, Rosario, and Poole. If we found a starting NT through the want ads, good for us. A good OTA out of Poole could make DW a June 1 cut. Rosario could become the backup receiving TE we needed, which explains why we let Barnidge walk.

I realize they do not confer with Smith, but his comments might suggest that CB is set. I read that the team likes Norman's potential and see him as a top tier CB, but they need to break him about guessing routes. My assumption is that Florence was brought in to buy time for the youth to develop. Josh Thomas was pretty solid in 2012, and Dockery was not shabby. We have 2 solid nickels.

I've been wondering about Colin Cole too...Jordan Gross said that he looked good in workouts too. Maybe Gettlemen wasn't totally lying when he said we dont have any glaring holes. If Cole can play effectively then it would be huge. All he has to do is play two downs.

With that said I really feel like they could go in any direction in the draft. This will really be fun to watch.

Steve is a player, not a scout. Remember when he said Rhyne Robinson was the next Steve Smith? Ill believe it when I see it with Cole.

I don't remember him saying that. I remember him getting high praise and fans labeling him that.

Hard to believe Steve Smith would label anyone as the next....Steve Smith.

I may be wrong though.

Who was it that kept poking Steve about Revis? It was good radio, because I felt like Smitty was ready to go his Revis right then. I usually only listen to

Charlotte radio in the mornings, but I randomly did catch that yesterday. I just didn't know who that guy was on the show.

Exactly. We have no one that can even compete with/push Lafell so there is no competition. Speaks volumes about our WR's,if we don't take one this year it needs to be a priority next year. We haven't had a reliable number 3 since Proehl, hopefully Hixon will be very good and Lafell has a breakout yr.

I've had a good feeling about Cole for some reason, glad to hear that about him. He reminds me of a younger Hollis Thomas. Just a big, experienced, run stuffer. I gotta pull for a guy that just walked in and killed it.

I'm ready for the draft man. Regardless of the positions taken Gettleman is going to improve our team, and whatever we don't get in the draft he will pick up in Free Agency

Probably Marc James he's kind of a Dbag. Yeah I've loved Steve being on the radio a couple times a week. Steve's still my favorite Panther. As good as Pep was, can you imagine if he'd had Steve's competitive attitude?

Scary that everyone including the GM are penciling Florence in as a starter...and acting like we just have one spot to worry about

Comforting not scary Id say. . that we an experienced corner given how much theyre messing with the rules still. The younger guys get eaten alive in times like this.
