San Francisco 49′Ers Reportedly In Trade Talks With Carolina Panthers

No way we make a trade until we see how everything plays out.

I mean how depressing would it be if Star is there at 14 and we have already traded, or if one of the top guys fall and some team really needy of a player is wanting to trade up.

I am def not ruling out a trade, but it won't happen until we are on the clock.

patience.

I still would do it, Star is not some kind of second coming like people think he is. We can get a space eater later on in the draft. Like someone said earlier on third downs they move Hardy to DT so they can bring Alexander on the field so that only leaves one spot for a DT which is gonna be Edwards anyway. Were not gonna find a better pass rusher at DT then Edwards this year. We got holes, and we need depth. Guys like Cyprien, the second round linemen and receivers can start next year. Or we could just get some Dts there to groom.

I like this. Whether Star's there or not, I wouldn't mind us trading to the back of the first round, grabbing a beefy fellow like Jesse Williams to be our first- and second-down space eater, and maybe geting a late third to spend on a safety. then we're free to get the best available CB or WR at 44.

But if Star's there, the safe move is to just grab him, so I'd be fine with that too.

yeah this is not a deep draft making the earlier picks more important in some ways, it just depends on the position we want

I have heard the exact opposite.

No clear cut top 10 1st rounders but lots of good players....meaning everyone wants out of the first 10 picks because those players are not that much better than the later 1st and even 2nd round picks....and no true 1st round Qbs although some teams will reach.

I'm taking the dollar over three dimes everytime. I like Gettleman's mindset, take what improves us now, we've done enough trading. We're looking for starters in rounds 1 and 2, not contributors.

They can certainly get starters by trading down.

Heard little blurb on ESPN earlier about San Fran trading up, and reporterette indicated they might be interested in Tavon Austin(who isn't).

for an undersized receiver? lots of people arent interested I would say.

He might be electric but you have guys on here comparing him to 89 who is 25 pounds heavier. . . and 89 is small.

. . and 25 pounds at that weight is an absolute crapload.
