Revis To Bucs, And Why We Should Rejoice

You also forgot to mention this is good for all the Tavon Austin lovers because the chances of the Bucs not taking Austin increased since they now pick after us.

Yea lol. And if you really think about it, now it makes it much more possible for us to take Tavon or another receiver high in the draft. We'll need a capable receiver like Tavon in the slot when 89 is covered one on one by Revis and no one else to throw to.

For everyone talking about Revis being such a game-changer, remind me again who the hell we started against Atlanta in Week 14? And yet we held them to 6 minutes of possession in the first half. And how did the Patriots and Packers both go to the Super Bowl with league-worst secondaries? Having an elite cornerback is nice, but it's a luxury in the modern NFL. Pass rushers > linebackers > cornerbacks.

If they had a franchise QB, maybe.

Yea, but they're still a very good team on paper. I wouldn't be surprise to see Tampa as the favorite to win the South after this addition, or will I be surprise to see them in the Playoffs. They have a good receiving corp, good OLINE, very damn good RB, and a great secondary on paper. Theyre weakest position atm is probably LB and QB. If they can depend on their defense and don't put the game on Freeman's shoulder, big thing can happen to them.

I bet the Patriots and Packers chose to have some mediocre talents in their secondary.

Umm, there are no ifs and maybes in what I wrote. These are realities, if quiet ones. I am far more concerned that the Bucs get Freeman turned around than I ever will be about Revis.

Of course a QB has more determination of how well a team will do but he can and most likely will definitely improve their defense. And as we've seen defense can get a team in the playoffs. (49ers, Jets etc.)

yep. this really is the only way that this could/should and probably will have an impact on the direction we take.

we have to add another playmaker receiver. the bucs are built to stop a run heavy team with just one playmaking wideout. we have to have more than our corps of average at best receivers beyond smitty.

and for all of you nonwanting to draft a receiver early guys out there, this essentially bumped WR up on the need list so you better hope and pray that you are wrong about your assessments of the WR class out there because it sure looks like we'll be drafting on early anyway.

think about this, they swept us last year without revis. read option or traditional run heavy schemes like many are thinking and wishing we will be running play right into their run the ball, stop the run mindset. that defense is built to stop the run. you want to beat them? you take it to the air spread the ball around and score early, quick, and often.

Good say Razyor.

If Verge's post is true that he has a good source telling him we'll be taking Tavon or Vaccaro, I'd believe it'll be Tavon. NYJ needs safety help and at 13, they could possibly take my man Vaccaro right before us. If Tavon is there, he could be ours. We def need another legit receiver vs TB, bc as much as I'd like to stay positive I can't believe that 89 will have good games vs a 70-80% healthy Revis. TB has a damn good secondary on paper.
