Yea, I'd like it. At the moment, Hunter at #14 seems like a reach but I fully believe in a year or two we'll look back and he will have been easily the best WR from this class. Next two picks improving the trenches is vital and solid picks at those spots (though if Hankins is there in the 2nd like the common perception seems to be right now I'd much prefer him). Finishing up with a couple secondary players with high ceilings is a good way to wrap it up. Jefferson was once thought to be the top Safety in this draft, so if he's there in the 6th he's well worth it.

For Hunter ya this is a huge reach, not just a small reach (5-10 spots, more like a whole round). Plus I don't want to look back 2 years from now and say this is a good pick, I want a player in the first game I can say dang I love this pick. Justin Hunter has good mesurables like everyone is saying and yes he's a good player, but with that first pick I want a Luke Kuechly, a Cam Newton, a Jon Beason, even a Sherod Martin (yes he was good for a rookie). Justin Hunter is none of those players specially at 14.

A Kenny Vaccaro, a Jonathan Cyprien, a Deandre Hopkins, a Tavon Austin (even though I don't think he fixes our problem), some one in there caliber not a second round pick in at 14. In other words pretty much surefire picks, not many red flags in college, if any at all.

But I like the rest of the picks such as Jesse Williams I believe he fixes a big hole, even though we haven't brung him in for a visit.

Hunter is projected to go in the last third of the 1st. I seriously doubt he's slipping to the second. He's the best total package in this draft: measurables (height, speed, hand size) + production + technique. There's really not another WR that comes close to being high caliber in all 3 categories. Deandre Hopkins is the only WR I see as a safer pick, and I'd be ok with picking him too. But Hunter's ceiling is higher and he'd be my preferred pick. Minnesota is a good bet for Hunter's area of likely selection. So as far as reaches go, at #14 he'd be only 5-10 picks early. If not for his injury he'd be hands down the top WR in this class and a likely top 10 pick.

As far as a Cam, Kuechly or Beason, if you're not picking one of a very select few positions there's going to be a serious element of uncertainty. LB is one of those positions. And Cam wasn't considered a surefire pick either. He was a very boom or bust selection himself.

And as far as your "surefire picks" the only one I'd give that label to is Hopkins. Austin in particular is the epitome of boom or bust, the opposite of surefire.

Hunter's only "red flag" was his injury. One isn't many. And he was looking recovered by the end of the season, he ran well at the combine, and if the medical checks he's done in the post season check out he has zero red flags.

Agree. A lot of these prospects have that issue. Stedman in my opinion is the best hands-catcher.
