Panther gurus final mock

1st Round #14 Justin Hunter 6'4 196 lbs WR Tennessee- I know many of you think that this is a reach here at 14 and he may be available in the 2nd round but I'm not willing to take that risk. This guy has everything to me. He has measurables and production, and I want to see cam throwing touchdowns to this guy on Sundays.

2nd Round #44 Jesse Williams 6'4 323 lbs DT Alabama- This guy is big and can stuff the run which is exactly why we need. On top of that he isn't bad at getting penetration from the middle if this guy is available at 44 then I think we jump at the opportunity.

4th Round #108 Brennan Williams 6'6 318 lbs OT North Carolina- This is a guy who I feel could make a push for a starting role this year. He had a 2nd round grade before the beginning of the season but is now expected to fall to the fourth. He could be a steal at a position of need. If he can start then Bell could move inside and we would have an improved offensive line.

5th round #108 Terry Hawthorne 6'0 196 lbs CB Illinois- This guy has all the measurables you would want in a CB. He's big and he runs a 4.31 40 yard dash. The reason he isn't getting drafted earlier is because of technique. I think we will take a risk on a guy who has all the physical ability in the world and just needs some technique and discipline refinement.

6th round #180 Tony Jefferson 5'11 213 lbs FS Oklahoma- This is us just taking a fly at a position of need. He didn't do well at the combine but if he works out then great but this pick has low expectations.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!

looks good to me. i like the first three picks a lot. bit of a reach for hunter, but oh well. we improve at WR, DL, and OL.

i actually think we're more likely to find hunter in the 2nd than jesse, but if we wind up with both guys i'd be fine...doesn't matter where we get them.

Yea, I'd like it. At the moment, Hunter at #14 seems like a reach but I fully believe in a year or two we'll look back and he will have been easily the best WR from this class. Next two picks improving the trenches is vital and solid picks at those spots (though if Hankins is there in the 2nd like the common perception seems to be right now I'd much prefer him). Finishing up with a couple secondary players with high ceilings is a good way to wrap it up. Jefferson was once thought to be the top Safety in this draft, so if he's there in the 6th he's well worth it.

yeah, jefferson's slide is pretty surprising.

might end up being a greg hardy type resurrection.

I am a Vols fan, watched all of his games...he is a guy that could be really good when he learns better route running and stops running backwards after he catches the dang ball. I would not pick him with the 14th pick, you want a guy you know will be good for a long time. Plus, this might have been said before but he looks an awfully lot like Lafell...who is just fine since Olsen is really our #2 receiving threat. Love the Jesse Williams pick, Brennan Williams is good too.

Hunter's route running is actually pretty good. He's got a solid route tree showing the ability to run a variety of routes including posts, digs, flys, corners, jets and crossing routes. He also is really smooth out of his breaks, and makes really precise cuts instead of rounding off his routes. Biggest problem with hunter is he seems to lose focus if things aren't going his way. I think the comparison to LaFell is pretty weak honestly. LaFell in the NFL is mainly a possession receiver, Hunter has the tools to be a gamebreaker....

Hunter's a reach, while Je. Williams is a stretch to still be on the board at that pick. That being said I like both players, and in addition I'm a big fan of Brennan Williams as well. I'd certainly take this draft.

Yeah I agree he's a reach but I really think the pats are going to take him with their pick in the first or someone like the jets at the top of the second. But if Williams isn't there then Hankins is fine as well

I doubt Hunter is there when the Pats pick. If the Pats end up with a WR in the first I think it's Rober Woods or Keenan Allen....I could see Hunter going to Pittsburgh or Minnesota if Austin/Patterson are off the board....
