What if we traded our 1st for....

Recommended Posts

And next year you'll ask "what if we trade the pick we got from last year for next year's..." Some people don't have the balls to handle having a first round pick without wanting to trade out of it, and I'm glad our GM isn't one of them.

is there a way I can hack the forum to give this like 1,000 pies?

2013 offseason - hey guys what if we trade down ...

or what if we stay put and keep drafting better rated players like we've been doing?

Gettleman doesn't seem much inclined toward trading at all. I get the impression somebody'd have to knock his socks off with an offer (hence the "dollar for three dimes" analogy).

He also mentioned wanting to get immediate starters out of the first two rounds of this draft. Not something you can do trading for future picks.

I think the days of the Panthers war room being a trading post are over.

I understand Gettleman's approach but it isn't such a bad idea considering our cap situation.

We get a much lower price for our picks and can have more manueverability next year.

And I do agree it probably won't happen but wth it was only a new topic that no one came up with.

I think we'd be better served by taking the BPA with our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so forth. I fail to see the benefit of trading away the 14th pick for an additional 2nd.

1. We don't have a third round pick.

2. I said trade back for both their #23 and #25. Never said anything about an additional 2nd.

3. If they throw in a third, it'd be great.

4. After the Revis deal, this could really change as the Jets pick just ahead of us and probably want offense.

I'd rather keep our 14th pick, we played well enough to earn him. There may be value in what you suggest, but I believe the BPA is better at 14 than 23 & 25. Although I'm not saying that I wouldn't strongly consider it.

Well then i hope the plan is to score a lot of points this year b/c we sure as hell ain't gonna stop anyone.
