Worse 2nd round pick.... Jimmy Clausen or Eric Shelton?

Shelton. Vincent Jackson and Frank Gore were both draft 10-20 picks later then him, and would have been franchise corner stones. Imagine drafting either one of those and spending the picks we spent on Williams and Stewart on more useful positions? That'd be 3 players in their prime right now at 3 different spots, rather then 2 players at the same spot.

Shelton hands down.

Our running game was wide open for him to come in and take over. I know I want Brandon Jacobs pretty bad.

Clausen didn't stand a chance. Between Fox and his lack of a contract and Jeff "I am in way over my head" Davidson running the offense. I think if we could have given him a year or two as a backup he might have stood a chance.

Shelton had no excuse. Dan Henning loved the big back (J. Riggins and S. Davis just to list a few) so there was no reason he shouldn't have excelled in Carolina. Other than i remember he couldn't keep his pads low.
