My problem isn't with a player it's with the position.

I agree that Austin is a better player then Adams. My problem is does a slot Wr warrant the importance of a top 15 pick. It hasn't never before. I could also see this if we were going to run a offense that passes the ball 70% of the time. But that's not the case. We will run the ball just as much as we pass it. So what makes the slot wr more important then a DT or secondary or TE or Oline??

Big guys and TD makers. Austin fits. I don't see us using a 1st on a guard. There probably won't be a T left. So that leaves WR and Dline. Folks just tend to get more excited over the TD makers than they do the Big Guys. Hence, the love for Austin. Or any other highly rated WR for that matter. Doesn't make it more important, just makes it more exciting to talk about.

I think they are comfortable with what they have to be honest, though I do not truly have an answer for what they want to do at that spot.

Sound like 2011 all over again. Do the FO not notice the teams making playoffs and winning championships don't put DT in the RB category of importance? I thought getting Gettlemen would change this stupidity.

I do believe "Comfortable" is the optimum word. But... if BPA happens to be a DL they will take him. Whatever upgrades the roster is fine with me. DL fits the bill of Big Guys and TD makers. So I would not be totally surprised if we did go DL in the first.

If you are looking for starting material, this move makes sense. If you are going off potential, odd is the right word. Big guys and TD makers. This makes Gettle sense. I don't like it, don't like it one little bit. No guards in the first please.

If you're looking for starters in the 1st 2 rounds then it makes sense.

You have to consider Gettleman is looking to see who can be the best player and addition to the team above any single position to fill. He's mentioned this line of thinking multiple times in his interviews. I think Sly Williams would be the best option if we were to select a DT in the first but can't see us picking any of the other guys at the position at 14. Maybe Datone Jones as a hybrid DT/DE

Look for Short out of Purdue if anything.

Go ahead, if you're that gullible. He's nothing but a glorified blogger to me. If they were indeed 'professionals' then would talk about Vaccaro's lack of maturity (petty arrests; punching during games), questionable leadership, weak focus (came to the combine out of shape) and riverboat gambling tendencies.

That's your opinion but don't act like your opinion is more valuable then their's. You a can sit here and play this role on the MB but these people in reality live this stuff.

How about this why don't you quit your job Monday and start your own scouting firm. Let's see if you can make a living off of people wanting to hear your opinion on prospect. Let me know when you're homeless.

That's a possibility but I think his inconsistency is a big red flag from my perspective.

Great potential there though. He looks like an absolute monster at times and then disappears for chunks.

Akeem Spence is my favorite DT prospect in this class as a whole for us.

You aren't understanding what we mean. Vaccaro is fine at FS, but Cyprien and Barron play SS. Seems weird to compare Barron to Vaccaro when they are such different players.

I'm talkin SAFETY as a whole. I'm not talking FS / SS. If you wanna talk SS, Vaccaro is also considered a very good SS and FS. He's not limited to only FS.

I like B.Williams as a NT in the 4th. And he's had a visit. Dude is a stump. I think he could definitely be an upgrade over Fua. He's got a low center of gravity at 6'1" and 335lbs and can eat up blockers.

He'll probably go in the 3rd tho...

So if we are looking for starters. That limits the field somewhat. Any DB spot is open, as well as RG and DT. Throw in WR and that is about it. So that gives us our pool. Any player in that pool is a potential Panther. If we follow the Big Guys and TD makers motto. That trims our pool to WR, RG, and DT. If we are to believe Rivera and Co. are comfortable at DT, that leaves WR and RG. Nobody wants to spend a 1st on a RG, so that leaves WR as winner of our pool. .......... Now the question remains. What WR do we take?
