Seattle's defense vs Shula.

lol

ugh

Your evaluation if Shula was from over a decade ago.

By that logic, we should evaluate Pete Carroll from his HC work in New England.

Just like T NcClain will be an all-pro DT and the Horbets name will never be taken back by Charlotte. Seems like you were dead wrong on those two accounts.....and I hope you make it 3 for 3 with this one too.

I am expecting to see a balanced offense from Shula.

definitive statements on Shula make people look dumb. We just don't know after a decade, hope for the best.

The best predictor of the future is the past.

I hope he has impoved more than a little. He would have needed to improve 100 fold to be even an adequate OC. Cross your fingers.

I'm not a Shula apologist, but there is something to be said about continuity for our young QB. When you look at the decision to hire from a human perspective. Ten years is a huge bridge between his failure and the present. People tend to grow wiser, learn from their mistakes and grow from their experience of failure. Making definitive claims based on a job he did 10 years ago just seems futile.

Some people do indeed improve. But not most. Most NFL coaches that fail drop down in the ranks and then out of the league. Shula rose quickly mainly because of his last name, failed, and dropped in the ranks and stayed there. This is a huge chance for him and I hope he makes the most of it. I just am afraid he is over his head again like every other higher level coaching job he had.

there's also something to be said about promoting a proven failure as an OC and HC as your OC.

A promotion that would not have happened under most circumstances. Chud's leaving left Rivera in a real pickle.

I wanted Hugh Jackson, but this is who we got. And i'm not gonna pretend I know how he will do based on a job 10 years ago. That's the bottom line for me.
