Just had these bad boys installed.

When i walk by them they wake up. I can change my temperature from anywhere in the world. They learn my patterns with artificial intelligence and adjust my temperature to what I like. Knows when I am away and helps me save energy.

The temp is set to 72 until around October.

They came free with an install.

These days, probably more commonly used by people who are home but too lazy to walk to the thermostat.

If I go on a week's vacation during the summer, I turn the thermostat up while I'm away. This would be good for adjusting the temp a day before returning so I don't walk into a hot house. Other than that I'm not sure what else I'd use it for. Programmable thermostats can do much the same thing anyway, at much less cost.

Yep. And I have seen a decrease in my power costs with my 100 dollar 5+2 thermostats.
