Cats Finish Strong, Now to the Offseason (Post Your Ideal Offseason)

Recommended Posts

Well another season has come and gone, this one was full of high's and low's but when push came to shove, the Bobcats truly did fight in every game they played (a lot of the time they were just outmatched).

The team finished on a three game winning streak and in doing so they avoided the NBA cellar as the "worst team in the NBA name" now belongs to the Orlando Magic.

Now to the offseason, I want to see each of your ideal offseason's and once we have all the submissions, I will post a poll and we can vote on the best one.

Let's see them.

Oh and Go Cats... erm I mean Hornets!!!

First thing first, rebrand back to the Charlotte Hornets!

Next, win that no.1 pick in the lottery this year. Take Ben McLemore, one who I truly think can become an All Star player in the future and a tremendous player to pair with Kemba and MKG. I also believe McLemore is a better SG than Beal and Waiters of last year draft.

I'm not sure how big we're going to make a splash into Free Agency, and I wouldnt really care. I want to suffer one more year for a better draft class in 2014. I hope we land Portland's pick next year too.

My Ideal Off-season:

Resign/Walk

- resign Josh McRoberts

- resign Jannero Pargo

- walk Gerald Henderson (only resign if he takes 5.5 mil or less)

- walk Byron Mullens

-walk Reggie Williams

- Amnesty Tyrus Thomas

- walk Ben Gordon

- walk Gana Diop

Draft: ( we are only getting 1 pick)

Ben McLemore- Great shooter who can pass and rebound. Fits Very well with Kemba and MKG

FA:

sign- Paul Millsap

sign- Nikola Pekovic

sign- Anthony Morrow

sign- Brandon Rush

Line-up

PG- Kemba, Sessions, Pargo

SG- McLemore, Morrow, Brandon Rush

SF- MKG, Taylor

PF- Millsap, Biz, Jeff Adrian

C- Pekovic, McRoberts, Haywood

Trade Gordon for someone else's bad contract and a future 1st rounder.

Get better and continue to develop talent through next season, then finally hit the lottery in 2014 with 3-4 picks in the first round.

Playoff's for at least 10 years from that draft and 3-4 picks in the top 15.

That right there is a playoff team IMHO...a 6,7,8 seed though.

We have to suck for at least one more year. Still no "superstar" on the team. Kemba and MKG (and Biz for that matter) are VERY interesting pieces to the puzzle, but we don't have that one guy yet that we need. Gotta hold off from the treadmill-type signing (Jefferson, Millsap, Pekovic, etc) until we get the guy that's gonna carry this team.

Yeah what kman said would be a good off season...and as also said, the Bobcats would be looking at a 6,7,8 seed, no lottery pick, and a ceiling of where they were during the Gerald Wallace years. It's the NBA...gotta find a Superstar, if not 2. Having Kemba, MKG, and a couple of decent but overpriced FA signings will do nothing but set the franchise back or turn them into the Atlanta Hawks. No thanks.

    • Really?  Back to this again? How many times have I said that I’d prefer to trade back from #1? Too many to count, but as I’ve pointed out, that’s going to be much easier said than done, as once we signal we want to trade back, teams will know we don’t want any of the QBs and they’d target the 2nd pick in a trade instead. All of my “T-Mac at #1” talk has been discussed under two circumstances… the first being that no QB or DE pop before the draft, and that we can’t trade back. But again, I know you don’t like to actually read that stuff when I say it, as I’ve said it numerous times.
    • Thanks for posting this. While this was far from a great performance, this critique shows what some of us noticed last week. Bryce played "a little better". There is some talent there. But, as you pointed out we really don't have a great pass blocking line for dropping back each down when we are behind. BY has got some bad habits and physical limitations. At times his teammates let him down. The play calling isn't always the best. I hope he can learn from last week and show us some improvement in the Saints game.
    • Oh, and yes, I’d take a WR first in this upcoming draft, but again, that’s not in a vacuum I wouldn’t have taken him over the QBs this past year or likely the ones next year either. It’s all relative to who is available in a specific draft, and I don’t think any of the QB’s are worth the risk at #1 this year. Also the fact that you’ve said you would take T-Mac #2 but scoff at him going #1 is just in itself, super weird.  How you can justify a player at #2 but not #1 solely because of their position and with complete disregard to the other players available, is absolutely crazy town talk
