The advent of social media, particularly twitter, has made events like this even crazier... with random people being able to break news on their own, post pictures and videos in real time, it's nuts.

I remember in 2001 the internet essentially locked up on 9/11. I was in my office and we had to listen to the radio to get info... no news sites would load and everything was just blank, and we had a T1 line there and back then that was something.

Honestly - these two guys could be just socially awkward losers who could never fit in or could never get a girl. It wouldn't be the first time some pathetic losers did something like this because they were tired of getting picked on and rejected by girls.
