Explosions at finish line of Boston Marathon

Won't be long before the conspiracy whacks explain how Obama was responsible for these bombings....you know, like how Bush master minded 9/11

Some jackass just asked the Mass governor if this was "another" false flag attack "to remove our civil liberties", etc etc....Give the governor credit - he just glared at the jackass and repsonded "No".

But it seems there may be a higher number of maimed individuals in this one. Apparently the bombs contained ball bearings and were detonated at ground level, which means some people lost or had seriously damaged legs, knees or other lower extremities.

Ugghh, kinda like the movie Swordfish.

you'd have to think if they'd had their way, the bombs would've been set up higher than ground level to reduce the number of shrapnel rendered harmless by deflection into the ground or simple loss of inertia being a deciding factor much more quickly because of proximity to the ground, pavement/curb/feature contours, etc.

the level of security likely made it impossible to get away with putting them in a higher, more effective location without getting noticed; so if there's a positive to be drawn from this, it's that while security was unable to stop them, its presence alone may have thwarted a far more deadly catastrophe than what happened.

You could definitely be right. Also, setting them higher would draw more attention to them.

But my hope is that they were novice bomb makers and didn't understand the concept. If that's the case, then the bomb makers are more likely to have made a mistake, and more likely to get caught.

CNN just mentioned this is tax day. Probably just a coincidence, but interesting anyway.

Just to point out the good in humanity, there are reports of runners ripping off their race belts to use as tourniquets, other runners running to the hospitals to donate blood, & many in Boston have opened their homes to people stranded without a place to stay.
