It'll basically just be another Timothy McVeigh. Nowadays though you don't really have to have a good knowledge of bombs or even a military background. Building bombs is really fuging easy and anyone with an internet connection can figure out how to build a big one.

From the get go I kinda figured that the Saudi guy was just a victim who the police were watching just because of his skin color. Muslims usually suicide bomb for attacks like this.

would we know yet if these are dirty bombs? That could potentially make this attack much more devastating

There is nothing to indicate one way or the other yet. It could easily be a single deranged individual, or a small group of domestic terrorist. Fwiw, I don't think it would be a group like Al Qaeda, they would want to do something that would make a bigger splash. Although it could be someone whose sympathies lie with Al Qaeda or even someone familiar to them.
