Definitely agree that losing Kalil really hurt him. If he could've been sandwiched between two solid vets in Gross and Kalil, he would've looked a lot better. I'm not surprised he struggled as a rookie. The jump from college to the NFL is a big one and the jump from D2 to the NFL is a huge one. He has a lot of developing to do in terms of technique. Like a lot of small school guys, he was accustomed to just physically overwhelming his competition at the college level. I look for him to be a lot better this year knowing what he's getting into, working on his technique in the offseason, and getting Kalil back.

Only time will tell if he was worth the high pick. However, I think the Panthers picked him in thinking he would slide over to LT once Gross is gone.

No. I don't think so. Virtually everyone was projecting Silatolu as an OG at the NFL level. I didn't hear anyone talking about him projecting as an OT, much less a LT.

All the team as to figure out is what to do at RG this season and what to do at LT after Gross retires.

I just hope we do a better job of finding Gross' replacement and have a smoother transition at LT than we have had at kicker. Anytime a franchise loses a long-time starter, especially guys as reliable as Gross and Kasay, it's not an easy transition once that guy is gone.

Yea, he's definitely not an NFL LT. He is fine where he is at.

I would also like to add, I love how he fought through his early season struggles, and was playing rather well towards the end of the year. To me, that shows a good deal of tenacity. Gotta love that out of the kid. .If he can continue to take strides. We should be set for the foreseeable future.
