Amini Silatolu

Amini is going to be a really good player for us. Last year was an adjustment for him on many levels, including level of competition and changing positions (played LT in college), which everybody knew it would be.I think he has Pro Bowl potential.

Here's what Mayock had to say about him after we drafted him last year:

Mayock's take: "That is a good football player, my beast from Midwestern State. He's tough, nasty, a finisher. He's a little bit raw. He's a gifted player, but he's raw. But I'm telling you right now that he's a starting guard with Pro Bowl potential. This is a good move by Carolina."

He was thrown into the fire from the get go and improved as well as he could over the course of the season. He had a couple of rough points, but that was kinda expected.

Not so sure he's a Pro Bowler just yet, but maybe in the future. If he improves like Bell did, he can be a very serviceable lineman where continuity is key.

He improved fairly dramatically over the season. He was fuging awful for the first half, which led to a lot of people believe that Gross' skills are falling of a cliff due to him having to cover for Amini's mental misakes.

There's no reason to believe that he will not continue to progress as he did throughout last season.

This year will tell a lot more. He came from a small school and was clearly over his head. He learned quite a bit which he hopefully will put to practice this year. Pro-bowler??? A little early to even speculate. I would be happy for a serviceable starter at this point.

Hard to say really...rookies on the oline struggle and struggle he surely did. We will see is really all that can be said. It seems he has the size and physical ability I think from here on it's ethic and mental.

The guy is really good in the open field. Physical talent is there. Blitz and stunt pick ups will develop. His head had to be spinning last year. So much of o-line play is knowing assignments so you react instead of think. It's not as simple as just block the guy in front of you.
