Should we draft 2 DT?

Apparently the NFC Pro-Bowl Defense next year will be comprised primarily of Panther players. I must have either missed something, or you have completely jumped the gun on your pre-season team evaluation.

Please discuss the Charlotte Bobcats All-stars for next year when you have an opportunity.

Hyperboil much or do you just enjoy talking out of your ass.

I'm not a fan of the line of thinking position before just straight up quality of an individual player and fit. Everyone is thinking about the combos we could take 1st & 2nd strictly position wise rather than looking at actual players.

We are in a passing league and we have a backfield full of one year rentals. Not an ideal situation by any means. The only hope for our secondary at the moment is our pass rush stays the same because coverage will be average.

But I'm not looking into th future. I don't care it they're in 1yr deals. I'm looking at now, and I believe we're better there now than last year.

Trading our 1 will net much more than a 2 and a 3, even if it was with the Jags who own #33. It'd get us more like next year's 1, this year's 2 and 3.

And we don't have any 7ths.

But switch out Short for Hankins (if God willing he were to fall, in that scenario,) or S. Williams and switch out Mathieu for Rambo or just about anyone else projected in that round and I'd be happy with that draft :)

so for the one a 2 a3 and 2x7 ;)

Yeah I don't agree with that. If we are better there now then last year then we really sucked last year. Because we are not good there now.

Yes we are. And we def sucked their last year.

We loss an aging Gamble but added a lot of no names that can actually play. Norman will be better and Captain will solidify the nickle. Florence will probably get a starting job. DJ is a play maker and Thomas and Dockery played well. They will surprise a lot of people like you in particular. If they suck, bump my post here up.

These are scenarios that I want to happen:

Scenario 1

(1) Keenan/Tavon

(2) Hunter

Scenario 2

(1) Sheldon

(2) Hankins/Jesse/Short

Scenario 3

(1) Cyprien

(2) Reid

Scenario 4

(1) Rhodes

(2) Banks/Amerson

Scenario 5

(1) Warmack

(2) Warford

Scenario 6

(1) Fluker

(2) Watson

Scenario 7

(1) Eifert

(2) Escobar/Ertz

Which one do y'all like best? ;)

No there not. If we go into this year with no other addtion to this secondary. We will be competing for the worst secondary in the league award.

Every DT I named would come here and start day one and be a upgrade over what we have now.

So this over dramatic bullshit your typing holds no weight.

They probably would start here but that isn't what we are "discussing" now is it? This draft might and that's a big might have one or two top flight DT's. The problem with the majority of DT's is that they take time to develope. I'm just of the school of thought that says draft someone in the first round that can be an impact player day one. ie: cam, Luke etc. getting mad at my opinion is just silly.

Every position takes time to develop. Exception is RB. So what point are you trying to make?

This is where we have to rely on our talent evaluators. I hope that there is someone at 14 that can provide an instant starter/contributer/gamechanger like the ones we got the past two years. I happen to think it would be a receiver, you think it's a DT, someone else thinks Saftey, OL, CB. Etc etc... My point is that history proves DT is just too bust prone to take a risk like that at such a fragile point in our franchise. We have to be very very careful. And as I've said in other threads if we do take a DT I will be stoked to see what he can do as he will be a Panther.

I tbink we are not counting on Cole. We have Frank Kearse, a guy the coach CUT last season, and Fua at NT. While I do not like this list, I find comfort in knowing that most DTs take a year or two to develop. Maybe, just maybe, we can find one.

I do not think drafting Jessie Williams is out of the question. I think he is better than everyone thinks and ranked higher than most think. We are going to look to trade back, imo

As for Under tackle, we have a starter there for 2 years. On third downs, Hardy or even Alexander move inside. We are talking about a 2-down Under tackle. I tbink we could stick with Chandler or draft a late rounder like Boyd, Miss St.

Who in the world (unless they are on heavy mind altering drugs) is going to give us all that for the #14th overall pick in this draft? I'm definitely for optimism and all that jazz but this place is bordering on pure lunacy.

I'm not saying anyone would, but that's what it would take to trade away our #14 (vs. just trading down for someone's original 1st). I'd be livid if we traded down from #14 all the way to the 2nd and only got a 3rd as comp. A 3rd is what we'd get for trading down 4 or 5 spots, not 20+
