Safety- Florida International

Thanks to BelgianPantherFan for posting this great article in the draft forum on him for those that are not too familiar with his game/body of work. The Panthers have shown quite a bit in interest in the guy and I really believe he is one of the top prospects on our radar to be selected at 14. No chance he is available in the second. I just wanted to familiarize the name and his game with our fan base for those who haven't been following the draft and some of its underrated/under the radar prospects quite yet.

Ideally, like everyone else, I would like to be able to trade back a bit while picking up a 3rd and still select him with our first pick in the first round. However, his stock is going to continue to rise in the next two weeks and if he is our guy we need to go and get him.

This team needs a leader and a thumper that does not really have a weakness to his game and still has a lot of room to grow into a potential pro-bowler in the secondary and I firmly believe Cyprien can be that guy. A combo of Luke + Cyprien for many years to come, coupled with our pass rushers, sounds very enticing.

I agree, i have come around too taking him at 14. He is smart, he has range, he can tackle. He reminds me of Luke except as playing the safety position. I wuz on Vaccaro earlier in this year but after watching this guy i think he is the better player. I know there is a knock on taking small school players high but he looks like his game will translate well to the NFL. He is my top defensive player if we choose to go defense instead of offense. I think he will make more of a impact day 1 than a DT will.

I think picking him should satisfy most people He is a probable starter day 1 and does not have a steep learning curve compared to the other positions of need (WR, DT)

Exactly and that is something we should be targeting with our first round pick. Cyprien fills a big need, is an instant upgrade over what we have at the position, and can come in day 1 and start and make a big impact in our secondary.

NO, WE NEED DT, MORE HARUKI NAKAMARU AND SHERROD MARTIN PLEASE

I pray that Cyprien is a our pick, he is better than Barron from last year who was taken in the top 10.

If he's the pick, so be it. I would rather go with someone who played against better competition with the first, and try and get Rambo, Swearinger or Thomas later, but I'm not an expert.

I hate the "better/tougher competition in the SEC" excuse. Those players in that conference is no better than any other one in another conference. The only thing separates them is that its a conference built with a lot of better teams. Id love to see a Nick Saban or Les Miles defense having to play a Chip Kelly's Oregon Offense or USC week in and week out. A lot of these Nick Saban's players goes on and do nothing in the pro; I know you never brought up Saban's name but thats my point.

You take the best player. Not the player from the best conference.
