Anyone else think the Sheldon Richardson mocks are just "experts" being lazy?

Versus the Run 2 At his best working up the field or when slanting. Plays with good leverage. Can win with quick first step and by staying low initially. Pads do tend to rise after initial contact. He does flash ability to anchor but it's not his strength. He will get pushed around "at times" by double team. Also allows OL to ride him wide too often. Needs to become more disciplined gap responsibility. Very good range for a DT. He has closing burst to the ball carrier and can be an explosive hitter. Jars ball carriers frequently and occasionally separates ball from body.

2 is above avg. on ESPN grading chart.

Not sure I would say lazy. But has sort of become a "group think " mostly because most believe Star and Floyd will be gone and we need DT. Richardson has a first round grade, so it fits. Although I have seen more mocks with Star falling to us. (Fingers crossed )

i wouldnt mind Richardson, it will be a meh pick in my eyes. go look at the cutups when he went vs Larry Warford and you will see why.

Kentucky only scored 10 points on 179 total yards and Richardson had a big redzone FF that he recovered and returned it 60 yards the other way.

that is because Kentucky is a bad team, look at the match up between the 2 guys. Warford won the 1on1 match up. on that FF he forced he was pushed 3-5 yards down the field, but did show some toughness by fighting and taking the ball away from the RB.again i would be fine with Richardson but he will have to get stronger and anchor better.

1. Warford is going to do that to a lot of players. He is the third rated guard in this draft. But Richardson made plays as well. So he didn't get dominated.

2. What is wrong with your eyes? He got double hit and push back 2 yards then he disengaged so quickly and made a big boy play before the guard knew what happen.

3. Most DLinemen get stronger in the NFL. I think they are all expected to.

Absolutely. Sheldon Richardson is vastly overrated and not even being considered as our pick.
