So, you still think Joe Adams is safe? A new crop is on the way

AE got caught by a punter...in the open field.

'Nuff said. He gone.

Adams? Yeah, I could see a really piss-poor spring and summer turn into the possibility of him riding the pine all this year and then making 2014 his make or break year.

I think he is safe for 2013 regardless.

We haven't drafted a Wr yet. I wouldn't assume anything about this draft yet.

You can assume whatever you wish. But the fact remains. Gettlemen is a Big Guy and TD Makers kinda guy. Infer what you will from that. Me? I see talent being added. And I don't care where it comes from, or what position he plays. Give me some athletes so I can compete.

Adam's had better be spending his time on ball retention skills if he wants to be a part of this here team. He has shown very little flash, and a whole lot of splash so far. He had better impress, or he very well could be gone. A 4th rounder ain't gonna upset the cart if he is released.

Oh geez I thought the Gettis homers were obnoxious, where are all these Lamont Bryant fans coming from?

Well he's 6'5", 225 lbs, ran a 4.39 40 and has a 43 inch vertical. It would seem he's an athletic freak of nature. Armond Smith and Byron Bell also said he's the most underrated member of the team. I might be wrong (can't really remember), but I think he made some pretty good catches during the preseason. I'll admit, I'd absolutely loooove to see the dude get a chance.

The dude honestly has all the athletic potential in the world, I think he had some knocks on him about his work ethic and character issues (I always take that with a grain of salt), and being a raw route runner. He originally played QB if I'm not mistaken and moved to TE later on... now he's a WR so he's probably still being developed into the position. He could obviously be a beast if he puts forth the required effort.

... however, with that being said I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well if only measurables, 40 times, and potential guaranteed success right?

He's on the practice squad so it's no big deal but we can't wait around expecting a diamond in the rough.

With the other guys that have already been brought in with proven NFL experience, "Adams is either going to have to have a hell of a camp, hang on to an active position by someone else getting hurt, or he will be cut or go to the practice squad ( if he is eligible). I didn't see anything out of him last year that makes me think differently. He has sketchy hands.

I just don't want Gettis to go to another team and dominate

I've never understood why it would matter if he did...same with any other players we let go. i also don't understand why people would think that would happen. people we let go 9 times out of 10 pretty much suck with the other team. there are a couple exceptions, but those are few and far between.

Don't you think it's a bit presumptuous to say the Ginn will only be here for a year? He came here, in part, to revive his career as a starting WR. You think that G-man and Rivera were just pulling his leg?

Even if Ginn provides immediate and marked productivity as a return man, I am thinking that G-man would be reluctant to let him just walk, but if he proves to be a legitimate threat as a WR (much like Jacoby Jones), this will almost surely secure him a roster spot. And, if the season goes as planned, they may renew him before the season even ends.

Of course all this is assuming that he will make the roster, which is almost a surety considering Joe Adams' present status in the doghouse.

I agree completely, people forget that Ginn was a force at Ohio State and a first round draft pick. He wants a chance so he has a chip on his shoulder.
