I want to know where its written that a receiver has to have elite 40 time to be number 1 receiver. Smh, If the fan base was making decisions on acquiring talent we would still be in the hole were in now.

We have a bunch of Al Davis' ZOMG it's not a 4.4....

If he caught everything that was thrown at him (he doesn't), then I would be ok with his 40 time. Unfortunately he body catches a lot of balls and has concentration drops. He has excellent balance and body control, but I wouldn't take him at 14. Boom or Bust prospect.

I look at Hopkins and all I see is a poor man's version of Allen. Sure would be nice to have a future first round QB with a cannon throwing me the ball over the college football equivalent of drunken Joey.

Yes, Joey. From Friends. I saw it a few times.

Hey, if the "poor man's version" has a lot better production, then give me the poor man's version. I just think Hopkins is the best all around WR in the draft. Good measurables, good route running, great hands, great production, and he's clutch. That's what I want in a WR.

If you were catching balls from Zach Maynard you would have concentration issues, and trouble catching passes as well.....

If Allen had Tajh Boyd throwing him the ball he would be a surefire top ten pick....

He would have an actual #1 pick QB with a cannon throwing him the ball here. Cam is better than Clemson's QB so why would you assume Hopkins couldn't be successful with him. You do have to take into account that he doesn't have Allen's injury history either. I don't see how he is a poor man's version of Allen when he's healthier, faster, and more productive(yes with a good QB but he will have a great one here.)

I'm not a guy that pays too much attention to 40 times, but when I see 40 times like these I do get a little worried. Sure, other guys have succeeded despite slow 40s, but successful starting WRs with these types of times are far more the exception than the rule.

Regarding Boyd, he went back to Clemson because he received a 2cd day draft grade from the advisory committee in one of the weakest QB classes in recent memory. He's a good college QB, but don't make him out to be Andrew Luck.

You did nothing to dispute the fact that Allen's QB is utter poo compared to Hopkins'.....

Though I agree that the QB didn't help him, there were numerous times he just flat out dropped passes. It was kind of unsettling to see him drop some really easy passes. He rarely jumped off the screen as a clutch catcher to me. He is best after the ball is in his hands. He is elusive in space. He doesn't remind me of Boldin like most people. Boldin was a hoss and hard to bring down. Not so much at all with Allen. He is a possession receiver in the NFL, and really it is more than his speed that makes me say that. You can't draft a guy like that in the top 15. That would be a huge mistake.
