Have you ever been unfriended....in life?

I get that, but never doing anything without the wife....that can't be healthy.

Just sayin.

Trust me that I agree with what you are saying.

You friends lives have changed completely though....yours not so much. If they are truly your friends perhaps you can both meet 1/2 way if that friendship is something worthwhile to you.

I have friends who expect me to go get blackout drunk with them and are disappointed when I say that I'm not interested in getting black out drunk. Now a golf trip I can be talked into :)

as an aside...I hate the term "guys weekend" just as much as I hate "man cave" like I need to specifically define what I am doing or a place in my house.

when I discovered that the girlfriend of my life long best friend was cheating on him, I told him. Bros before hos. They were about to get married and I figured he should know. He confronted her and she gave him the option...me or her...pussy trumped years of friendship and we never talked for about 12 years. Couple years ago he called me to tell me he had cancer and about 6 months. We hung out and did some catching up until the night that myself, his twin brother and his wife...yes, the same woman...watched him take his last breath and died. It really sucked ass and I think about it often.

life's too short to let good friends disappear for bullshit reasons!

Very true, Hawk.

I've certainly had fights with friends, but can't say I ever lost one permanently. Have lost touch with some for sure, but not on bad terms with any of them that I can remember.

Old girlfriends, on the other hand...

I guess I was technically de-friended by a good friend I had in college. We would hang out pretty much everyday considering we had studio together, but as soon as we graduated, he wouldn't return any of our calls/texts or anything on facebook. It was just strange that right after graduation, he packed up and cut ties to all of his college friends apparently. One of them said he did the same thing in High School.

I can go away for several days at a time

I'm married

I.check with the wife out of respect

I has balls

Your other friends need some P control.

Have a group of 8 guys I have 3 day golf outings with once or twice a year.

We do Pismo or Monterey for some golf, Liars dice and a good dinner out somewhere.

We're not stupid, taxi it when we go out drinkin' and dining and don't chase pussy while we're gone.

The wife has no problem with it.

That being said on my side, 2 of the guys their wives have no idea they drink at all on this trip as they don't at home.

Whatever works.

Brohesion is crucial. Not just for relationships but the future. Srsly.

Got a few buddies who have boys. I have girls. These dudes don't know the first thing about sports yet they are very handy. But they have come to me to coach their boys in soccer, hoops or baseball and football.

Better a close friend then someone you really don't know coaching your kids.
