What QB great does Cam's stat's mirror almost perfectly ?

He mimics both good Favre and bad Favre, sadly.

I agree Newton could ultimately be better.

I feel like it's not just because he has mobility though. Cam admires the mad scientists like Brady and Manning and he's going to try as hard as he can to reach that level. He may never be a QB/OC but I can see him being a more disciplined player than Favre was.

It's not the mobility for me. It's the "gunslinger" mindset. Similar accuracy too. Both Favre and Newton have their fair share of "general vicinity" throws.

The other thing they share, at least so far, is inconsistency. Both guys could be near pinpoint accurate on some throws, way off on others. Likewise, both can have outstanding performances followed up by "what the hell" games.

There's still time for Newton to get past that, though it's worth noting that Favre never really did.

He still managed to win games though, and a ring.

Important to note he didn't include Cam's rushing yards or TDs.

This was one of the comments

Which RB does he most closely resemble?

Since he has only played two years, I ignored his totals and compared his season averages and only looked at Hall of Famers. These are career stat averages.

Cam Newton: Rushing Avg 5.7 yds/carry, 11 TDs/yr

Jim Brown: Rush Avg 5.2 yds/carry, 11.8 TDs/yr

Barry Sanders: Rush Avg 5.0 yds/carry, 10.9 TDs/yr

At this point in his career, Cam definitely displays Farve tend9encies. He's a gunslinger with a big cannon for an arm but then there'll be some of those games where you ask yourself:

"Was that Cam making that throw, or Aaron Rodgers?"

You say that quote in a good or bad connotation? Is he making a perfect throw or is he throwing it to the other team? Lol
