Here a link from 3 years ago, still lookin back further since the search on this forum doesnt allow me to search for 3 letter names it makes it especially fun. . . on my Friday, yeah, Im not doin this anymore right now.

LMAO....you found a post where I said Carolina might give Smith the Tony G treatment and are trying to spin that as bashing him. WOW.

KC parted with Tony G out of respect for his awesome career and wanted him to have a shot at a ring while he still had "it"....bc they were about to enter full on rebuilding mode and he would have had no shot at a ring.

You should stop there. You are desperately grasping at straws. That was actually a compliment and showed how much the franchise should appreciate what 89 had done.

Again, just message nagai....he has posted with me for years away from the huddle. I am a Smith fan....simple and plain. That doesn't mean his negatives get ignored

Mhmm right that quote off CRA. hahaha call it a spin. Dont worry I'll grab some more for you later.

Again, do you know understand the concept of why KC let Tony G go....

I already told you where to start....I didn't become legitimately critical of Smith until 2010. No need for you to waste your time on searching pointlessly in 2008 unless you have nothing better to do.

Also, I have no issue admitting unless a player walks away early from the game....the number of players that should play there entire career with a franchise is TINY....for a variety of reasons. Which is an anti huddle stance

I maybe a little bit spoiled but I hope we get day one starter out of our 1st 2 picks like we have the last 2 years. And I'm not saying Ginn or Hixon signing stops them from drafting a WR. I don't have a clue what they will do. But the signings might move other WR's higher on their board. Like a Allen, Hopkins, and Hunter guy who maybe better as actual WR right now.

now that is something i believe as well and have said in another thread. signing Ginn is more of a move that says they may want a complete WR like Allen or Hopkins.

I think Ginn also means they dump 2 for 1. Edwards and Pilares if Ginn looks good in camp...maybe even Gettis. new GM is gonna move on from a lot of guys soon....just the way it works

no offense, but i think it might also be your wishful thinking that patterson isn't the guy. point is, at this point really nothing, not even patterson, can be ruled out. and what also can't be overlooked is the fact that ginn is at this point a one year loaner. the plan might be for adams to be the return guy long term or it could be that they might have their sights set on someone like patterson or austin to be the long term answer for a several roles and ginn is just insurance.

i gave up trying to figure out how things should be and looking through a very narrow tunnel about what the panthers should do and what i think they will do, but as i've been saying all along, you can't rule out the guys they've shown interest in or the positions they've shown interest in and you can't let what they've done in FA acquisitions cloud what you think they will do since most of those signings have been dirt cheap one year deals meant to shore up the bottom of the roster.

i know a lot of people didn't want cam a couple years ago. it just didn't make sense and he just wasn't the guy or the type of QB they wanted for whatever reason, but it turned out to be a great decision and most came on board. last year it was luke and i know how you felt about him leading into the draft because you made it just as plain as you have been doing with patterson (not that those two are on the same level) and WR in the first. you were absolutely sure what the panthers should do and what they were likely to do, but you were wrong. i assume that since then you've come on board. lesson learned, tho, (or at least what i would have hoped) is that we don't know what's going to happen and all the name calling and penis comparisons mean nothing.

the team is going to do things that just don't make sense to us...at least at the time. quite often it doesn't work out, but in the past couple years they've gotten better and we now have a GM that is beyond most in the league as far as talent evaluation and well beyond anyone we've had. if he picks a WR, even patterson, then more than likely it was the right decision.

having an opinion is fine. when it gets ridiculous is when you spend all your energy trying to defend and fight for that opinion and what makes it ridiculous is that we have no control over the outcome. when we get it right, we think we look big and we want to draw attention to ourselves (even tho it's really just a case of being the lucky blind squirrel that tripped over the acorn) but when we're wrong (which is most of the time) then we look really stupid. the more noise made, the dumber we look.

probably more than you were expecting or cared to read, but there it is anyway.

cheers.

Then what the fug do you come here for? If it isn't to have your opinion voice it and debate it with other fans of your favorite team.

Nobody knows what this team will do in the draft but we all can make a guess and discuss it. That's what this forum is for. Yes I wanted Cox last year and not Luke but I didn't stop rooting for the team because they picked Luke. I will do the same thing this year if they pick Patterson. But I can still have my opinion about it and comment on it. That's what these MB's are for.

pencil him in for this year. goal might be to let patterson/austin work on WR stuff this year and returner next year...you know, allow him to focus on that one aspect. nothing is certain or written in ink until all the pieces are in place. they won't decide to draft a wr/return guy because they have ginn. if they see a guy they want, they'll take him regardless of position or who they have there already.

Agreed. Let your kid get his feet wet with only one thing on his mind. Playing NFL caliber WR. If he can handle more than that? We got our man. Hey, best case, if Ginn does well, and Adams hangs around. He won't have to.

If we get a good athlete at 14, he should be able to make an impact almost immediately. With best hopes being the positive far out weigh the negative. I just feel that if we get the 14th best athlete in the draft. You really should count on him getting plenty of playing time.

Also, I am not a fan of the 1st round DT have a high bust rate argument. If you get one of the top players at his position. That kid has a greater chance to succeed, than say, the tenth best player. Top ten picks could succeed more often than the 30th pick because they are the better player. But the latter is a first round bust and drags the rate down with him.

If you grab the 2-3 best player at a position, he should out perform the 6-7 best player. At 14, we are in that position. Get a great athlete, that is the point of all this.

Personally, I want a WR. Someone to aid in the splash play category. Many of the top WR in this class can do just that. A lot of these guys are ready to go right out of the gate.

I am trying to keep my giddy in check. Although, I have to admit it is not an easy task. I am happy with developments to this point. Giddy in the knowledge that. Gettlemen gots this. So far.

tl/dr version. Got an a roll. Deal.

haaa gotta love Hubby, always the optimist. Has anyone ever checked what the bust rate is on O Lineman. I will bet linemen on D and O have higher bust rates than any other spot just because of it being hell in the trenches. Looks like its much harder to succeed if you have skill and not the physical tools already developed.

That doesnt make the formula for success on that position on less or more of a gamble like you guys make it out to be. You still NEED a DT and you still HAVE to take one somewhere. The odds, the risk, and the gamble arent any less in any other round.

You dont want a bust in the first? EHHHH lets get two busts in the third.

All I am saying, is give me a top ten talent and I will expect him to succeed. Give me a 3rd round talent, and I can hope he will develop. Give me a 6th rounder, and I can pray I found a diamond in the rough.

WR and CB have just as hard of time transitioning as do Oline or Dline. Skill positions are tough. If you are drafting skill positions, you better get them early.

We have the 14th pick. Whomever we pick should be talented enough to push for a starting spot. No matter the position.

With the way things are developing around here. I find it hard not to be optimistic. I try not to smother folks with it. But, it is difficult to hide it.
