Hixon agreeing to terms with Panthers today...

This is a great signing. Hixon is a winner. Not only that he played with two other great receivers, and a quarterback that actually shared the ball. I haven't seen too much of his film when it comes to being able to block downfield, but I'll take a risk and assume he's decent at that because the Giants have had a great running game for a while. As for Hixon's defense against the critics, if you see substantial playing time on a team you've won two Superbowls with you have to be good.

Funny how people downplay LaFell and will talk up anyone signed...

LaFell can play...

Lafell can play, and I think he becomes more consistent this year. I don't think this signing symbolizes any sort of competition between Lafell and Hixon. They'll be on the field a lot together.

Seems like everyone wants our receiving corps to suck by the the time the draft rolls around, just because they want the excitement of drafting a wr round 1. But if we don't need to we don't need to, as long as we get better at the position who cares. Besides I think Gettlemen has sort of told us "between the lines" that he's going OL or DL. I believe he said....to paraphrase...."You win with big guys." He's want the lines to get bigger.

Yeah, saying he is better than a couple return men, a guy who hasn't caught a ball in 2 years and converted players...that doesn't mean much.

He barely has a little over 1000 yards in a half decade....you can't even claim he is better than Ted Ginn.

Ok we possibly added depth IF he can stay healthy....that does not solve any of our real issues at WR

It means something when you look at our recievers. It was a good signing, can we just leave it at that? And yea i still expect us to draft a reciever or two.

That is fine...but as you patrol the boards some say Hixon was such a boss move we no longer need to look at WR early...which is not fine.
