I get the sense we have a pretty good handful of filmmakers on the huddle. Well here's a thread to talk about it. A few questions for you to answer to kick things off (if you want to):

More writing than filming although I wouldn't mind doing that.

As for influences I try to limit that so what I do or write is truly original andmy own. Subconciously yes I have been influenced but I try to make a concerted effort to be on my own.

As of now I'm just a JOAT, Master of none. I'm starting to gravitate to directing, writing, and production design

-Your gear if applicable

Looking towards getting the Canon EOS T3i as a starter, might post amazon wishlist later

NC State and UNCW as of now

2-3 years

Early Peter Jackson, Tarantino, Spike Lee, Nolan

I have a channel but it's mostly a bunch of student films that I hate and that suck

I'd like to branch out and start another channel that will be more professional and represent more of my own vision. Eventually I'd like to land on a TV production since my brain is more wired for episodic storytelling.

Zula I got my son/wife a Canon T3 off of Buy.com about 2 months ago and they love it.

She does photos and he does videos.

What kind of software are you using?

My son has a 15" Macbook and got a deal on a student version of the CS6 suite.

I don't know crap about video editing, but we use Photoshop CS5 here at work for imagery editing/production and it's pretty freaking awesome.
