Worst Panther in history to start at least 8 games?

Are you sure you meant him? Maybe your looking at it from a value standpoint as it seems like we paid him good money as a free agent.

Maybe you meant Rashard Anderson?

No, Evans was the guy I had in mind. And he did get a hefty paycheck. He just didn't do much to earn it. Thus, lousy value.

if you're talking purely about ability though, you're correct that Rashard Anderson was worse.

If I remember right (feel free to check me) the year we drafted Anderson, Seifert was hoping to get Chad Pennington. As I recall though, the Jets hadsomething like four first round picks in that draft, and one of the early ones netted Pennington.

Always wondered how team history would have changed had that draft shaken out differently.

Really? No Keary Colbert mention? Defense was def Chuck Smith. Honorable mention to Dan Morgan, but he never played though, soooooooooooooooo.

I'm not sure Chuck Smith ever even practiced, much less start eight games.

Chris Weinke

Kinda surprised it took over 70 posts for that name to pop up.

This thread is a great idea but too many dumb posts. This isn't "who has started 8 games that i really hate" or "who started 8 games and wasn't worth the pick/trade/contract". To me this topic is who is the single most inept player ever to start half a season for us. A bunch of you aren't even naming starters.

When I read the topic my first thought was Matt Willig, no hesitation I thought of him.

Jimmy is certainly up there. Rashard Anderson was the worst starter on the worst team in franchise history.

I'll give you one name that I personally hate more than any other: Shayne Graham. He played 11 games for us but I only remember one: the 17 yard missed field goal as time expired. He missed 5 of his 18 attempts for us. I don't understand the guys that hate John Kasay because he was a classy player compared to some of the other bums to kick for us.

Wow, don't pull selective memory bs. Foster averaged over 4.0+ yard a carry up until his last year, and even then he still managed 3.5, he's far from the Worst Panther in history, and that's pretty ignorant considering the moments he's had wearing the uniform.

Jarrett, Nakamura, Nick Hayden, Colbert

Deshaun Foster...

If every game were against Atlanta, he would be a hall of famer. Unfortunately, the season is 16 games. Three years as the feature back, complete with 10 TDs and 18 fumbles.

It was probably his postseason touchdowns that made him a bigger disappointment. He fooled everyone into thinking he could become something special.

Nope bad answer. People are trying to be different now. Clausen has got to be the choice, although unoriginal at this point. He set this team back years.

that was a fluke year... DA went to the pro bowl and Matt Cassel had a good season once, matt flynn showed up in a big playoff game, caleb hanie did too kinda... Panther fans seem to love delhomme for that one season when he ruined us after that. never came up in the big time. I may be biased because I was sitting two rows back from the visting bench in the arizona playoff loss but i HATE delhomme.. Will never consider him a good panther.

Funny thing is Delhomme didn't make the pro bowl in 2003. He made it in 2005 but his 2004 season was his best.

Most people here are jumping on the "Player who started that I hate the most" theme, and ignoring the actual premise of the thread. They're also making it easy to pick out the folks who just started watching the Panthers after they went to the Super Bowl.

Jason Peter was here for four years, started 20 games, and got 7.5 sacks and 65 tackles.

Norbert Davidds-Garrido was mediocre and couldn't open a hole to save his life.

Rashard Anderson was awful and easily the biggest draft bust in Panther history

Even without the murder thing, Carruth was all speed, no hands.

Bad players didn't just start in 2004...
