Who's your "prime target"?

Mr. Scot

My prime target is Star, but I know it's not a likelihood. Of the more likely players available at our pick I honestly am at a loss. Hankins would still be my preferred pick. If not Hankins there really aren't that many impact players around our spot in my opinion. None of the WRs are even close, OG just isn't a value position (but if I had to choose Warmack would probably be my #2 at our pick), I really don't see us spending a high pick on a CB this year, none of the S are 1st round quality players. My second choice behind Hankins would have to be trying like hell for a trade down to pick up an extra 2nd to pick from the deep 2nd round value pool. Get a guy like Hunter or Hopkins (my money is on them being the two best WRs in this class) at the end of the 1st and get an extra 2nd to spend on a combo from S/DT/OL in the 2nd.

If this is like a dream draft type thing, I'd love to see BPA (not WR) at 14, and then Justin Hunter in the second round. His size and athleticism remind me of AJ Green. He dropped a few passes last season, but I really think he's got the potential to be a stellar receiver for many years in the league.

I think the problem with this draft is that there really aren't these kinds of players in it to really get excited about. If we stay at 14 I'd like to add a playmaker like Austin but Kennan Allen could eventually be a quality number one. I'm really not sold either way. I am more excited about the options in the second round like Da'rick Rodgers, Justin Hunter, Jonathon Crypien, or Arthur Brown.

Also I wanna say oline in the first but I really feel like Gettleman is gonna find a couple low priced vets that can come in a hold it down.

i don't really have any bandwagons I'm on this year. i want a WR in the first couple rounds and i don't want an OG in the first (i don't want to be starting another rookie on the OL at all).

as far as specific players, there's no one player i have in mind. I'm also not ruling out any, either. i think it will be either DT, WR, or S in the first and one of the remaining two in the second and I've got a suspicion that keenan allen will be a panther, but I'm really cool with the idea of a lot of picks.

I agree with a draft so deep I say trade away.

Star, Warmack, Austin, Vaccaro in that order and I'd be happy, that'd be my list going in. Would be ok with Patterson or Johnson.

Such a deep draft though, not much drop off after those guys, wish we could trade like the 9ers and Pats :(.

Only one mention of Cordarelle Patterson? Thought he was more popular than that here.

No Chance Warmack fans at all?

i think a lot of people like patterson, but realize he's a swing for the fences type pick. he's a bit of a gamble. and there's safer directions we could go. the potential is there, tho.

and warmack...i think most have realized just how unlikely an OG in the first is for us.

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
