Good news, and I'm guessing if there was something more serious underlying it, they would've already found out and not been as definitive about him playing there again:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2013/03/31/louisville-cardinals-kevin-ware-successful-broken-leg-surgery/2041241/

University of Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware underwent successful surgery Sunday night to repair the gruesome open fracture of his right tibia he suffered during the Cardinals' 85-63 win over Duke in the Midwest Regional final, and he is expected to remain in Indianapolis until at least Tuesday, U of L announced.

Ware had the bone reset, and a rod was inserted into leg during the operation that lasted about two hours. The wound caused by the bone puncturing through his skin in his lower leg was closed.

U of L's late-night release said no timetable for recovery has been set, but the early prognosis from U of L sports medicine director Fred Hina - given right after the game while Ware was in surgery - was that Ware is bound for a lengthy recovery, but the injury is not likely a career-ending one.

Eh, I get your point. But proper etiquette is to at least throw a *GRAPHIC* warning.

And I had already seen that picture, and I was watching the game live. I'm more saying this for some other poor soul that isn't expecting to see a dude's bone sticking out of his leg.

I thought I did something similar this past summer...only a few days before competing in the World's Longest Soccer Game. Fell while getting off of my boat. When I stood up in the water I looked at my leg and all I could see was about 3 inches of white and thought it was my shin sticking out. As it was, I had peeled the skin off instead and no break, but it was still enough to send me into shock for a bit. Fun times.
