Why I Think the Panthers Will Dominate Next Year

I say 10-6. Well go 4-2in the division sweeping saints and splitting with the bucs and falcons. We'll lose to the giants 9ers pats and Seahawks but cam well throw for 4500 yards plus. Throw 25+ Tds. run in 7. And only throw 9 ints. Our defense will play much better and even those games we drop will be close we get the second wildcard and get bounced unless we play greenbay or the falcons. Cam is even more hungry for success after watching these rookies he's better then have good years with post season play. It's his turn to reshine.

I don't know what to believe will happen, but I really do believe that we have the talent to win, and to win a lot. People around here are whining about the lack of a second WR, but we have a great receiving TE in Olsen, we have Smith, and we have three really solid running backs. If Shula doesn't try and get cute, and plays to the strengths of his offense, we should be a threat to score every time we have the ball.

On defense, we've got what could be the best 4-3 linebacker unit in the league. I think just about anyone would be happy with Johnson and Hardy on the edges, and with Edwards returning (assuming he plays at the same level as last year, he's getting old), all we need is a fat guy to play nose, and there's almost always someone like that on the FA scrap heap if we can't find someone on the roster to do it.

That leaves the secondary, where we seem to have a lot of JAGs. But that group looked pretty good last year, after Gamble went out. Aside from some boneheaded play calling early, the defense was pretty good, and got better as the year wore on.

Is there reason for optimism? Absolutely! Any time you have a talent like Newton on the roster, you have that.

It's all in the first four games. If we play even or better, the team will continue to play hard and will contend for the division championship. If we go 1-3 or 0-4, then it's going to be pretty bad because Rivera's job will take on the stench of death and the team will collapse.

Unfortunately you exist and were incapable of sharing any insight at all with your post. I appreciate that you attempted to be clever though.

Just because a guy has a good feeling about next season doesn't mean he's a homer, nor should it incite such an uproar from the site's vast populous of illogical pessimists. And I was referring to those who countered his OP with absolutely no basis to their posts at all; the ones who just love to feel bad for themselves.

And I'm in no way a homer; I'm a realist and understand exactly where our team stands. I don't agree with the OP, but his post wasn't harmful. Some of you need to learn some decency and think more before you post because you clutter this site with crap.

As I understand it, having a good feeling, though laudable, leaves too much gray area. I could see those folks not being, or wanting to be, a Homer. There are myriad levels of fandom. As long as you are a fan. I’m good with that.

More and more folks are seeing the bright future of the Panthers. Some will be Homers like myself. Most will not. Enlighten the non believers, for they know not what they do.

It is a byproduct of the interwebz that some folk seem terse. One sentence conversations lend themselves to miscommunication. The reverse is also true. If you don’t’ actually read and comprehend what someone is saying, you may get the wrong impression.

I got a question. If we would have started the season with the same offensive plan that we used in the 2nd half of the season. Do you think we would have won more games? I do. I think we could have won both the TB games and a few of the others. The failure of the team was not the talent but the decision makers. Namely Chudz and Rivera. I choose to believe that Shula has a better head on his shoulders and Rivera has learned too.

We will be better next year and I think we will make a playoff run.

I am a bit worried about Shula and the offense. Had we signed the ex Raiders coach I would be alot more optimistic.

I think we will be fine defensively if we can find a half way decent S tandem.
