Sad thing is every QB will now be given a 20+ mil contract. The salary cap needs to be raised.

I can't see Romo being in Big D the next 2yrs. That was a move on Dallas part to create some cap space for this year, and pretty much a "thank you" contract to Romo for being the best Dallas QB since Aikman. It's not a contract that they plan to keep Romo there for the next 6yrs.

Now, I am no expert, but that contract would cost the Cowboys about $31 million or more for Romo's services for the next two years.

The poor QB crop in this year's draft seems to be driving the price up.

"Thank you contracts are a good way to get you fired."

Jerry Jones is not going to fire himself

Jerry Jones is not going to fire himself

He sort of did once, specifically when he hired Bill Parcells.

Unfortunately for Cowboy fans, Jones saw Parcells failure to win a Super Bowl as proof that he didn't need a football guy in charge. By his thinking, it meant that he was just as good a GM as Parcells.

(this is typical of how a narcissist sees things)

So yeah, he's entrenched now. Bad news for Cowboy fans...

...but funny as hell for the rest of us
