One year ago today...Kuechly

one big lesson to learn is that we should never consider the players already at the position, proven or not, given a a chance or not, as a deterrent to drafting that position.

just because we have guys we may like at a position who have yet to be given what we consider to be a real opportunity doesn't mean that we won't or shouldn't invest a high pick. you draft who you think could have the biggest positive impact on your team regardless of who is already there...esp. early. you may have potential at a position, but if you see a player you think could be great...not guaranteed (because there are no sure things or guaranteed things in the draft), but who could be great then you take them.

but then you are not building a team thru the draft, just certain positions i think. we already had invest numerous picks in a position that is one of the easiest to find talent at. when so many other team needs could have been addressed. i also think you can say any player is your bpa on your board, since we do not have any proof of other wise.

that's what the giants did. seemed to work out well for them.

Good for you but Patterson isn't Cam nor is he Keek. Cordarrelle is a high risk because he can't run routes, he isn't physical against DBs and he possess horrible catching technique (upward palms and body). You can't honestly compare Kuechly's success to Patterson. Cordarrelle needs a ton of development.

At this endeavor, Austin is the superior WR.

Chill, i know this. I was just giving KKL poo.

Oh ok lol, I thought you were implying Patterson was going to light up the NFL in his rookie campaign.

He might as a returner. I like Patterson a whole lot, but I'm not naive to think he is NFL ready right now as a wide reciever. He will be an impact player his rookie year though, i think.

Yeah. And a bunch of you wanted AJ Green, Von Miller, or even Gabbart, over Cam. When we had jimmy.

This was the first time I seriously started to look into who we were drafting, and after I watched college highlights of Cam and his SEC Championship, I knew I was sold.

And then, STILL, some of you just couldn't get pass the fact he "stole" a laptop. I mean, really.

So although I enjoy much of your opinions, some of you have absolutely no idea wtf your talking about, or even know anything about football.

Last year we really couldn't miss. BPA, Keek was a stud, it was really a no brainer.

This year, pretty much any opinion is valid. We need play makers, and position wise I could care less. But, I think that most of us SHOULD AGREE, that a WR threat needs to be found, and in the 1st round. Is it make or break? No. But the problem needs to be solved, and we don't know what we are getting next year in the draft. Allen, Patterson, Austin, just get a weapon, pleeez

The most popular topic 1 year ago today was "Sorenson wants Wr, Blackmon".

At post #76 of 115, chris999 is the first person to mention the word Kuechly.

None of us know as much as we think we know.

BTW, he was the only poster in the entire discussion to even mention his name. At all.

Color me me stupid too.

I talked about wanting Kuechly long before the draft. There were a lot of other discussions besides that one topic

No, no. I realize that. All I did was go back to this day one year ago, picked the most commented-on thread and noticed what I noticed. If you wanted Kuechly before the draft and actually put it in to words, my point is my hat is off to you. I was not nearly as bright as any of you that did.

I was watching Keek highlights today, man I get so pumped for the season to start. Watching him drive TP back in the Oakland game and standing over him and pointing talking poo. fug man the dude is awesome. I remember wanting a DT, but when Kuechly was the pick I was pretty happy about it.
