Henderson Wants To Stay With Cats

Recommended Posts

Maybe the light's finally gone off for him offensively???? He's been playing lights out lately.

Another thing, do you think Bis is turning the corner? He's been pretty impressive lately comparably. He's got a couple double double's a few 10-12 point games over the last two weeks.

I wouldnt mind bring Hendo back, but its got to be at the right price. I honestly have no idea what kind of market there is for him around the league, if he had a reliable 3pt shot then I think some other team might splurge on an Aaron Afflalo type deal but playing on the bobcats probably hurts his value.

He is a restricted FA, so I could see him coming back on a 2 yr/ $12 mil deal or so if he cant find a long term deal somewhere

Gotta keep Hendo at a reasonable price. I do honestly believe that he can keep up the kind of play that he has been displaying of late. I think it is clear that he has been given the green light to score and be THAT guy. He has a smooth mid range game, post game, 3 pt shot is solid enough (not lights out by any stretch but when he shoots you know it can go in now), and the man is a good leader. I think pairing Kemba with Hendo for the future is a good look. Just need to add some good front court talent and I think we will be solid. Just my 2 cents

I'm not 100% sure if Henderson is the starting SG of the future for the Bobcats (ideally you'd like to pair someone like Wiggins with Kemba and MKG), but I fully believe that he is capable of 18+ ppg on 47% shooting from the field and good defense (although his team defense has been atrocious this season -- more to do with the lack of coaching and defensive players around him imo as his individual defense is good and effort isn't lacking). The thing that I'd really like to see improvement in from Hendo is his ability to create plays for others. Some friends and I always joke around and call him Baby Kobe. Obviously he isn't close to Kobe, but he has a lot of refined moves that Kobe uses. Hendo is a fantastic mid range shooter (one of the best in the NBA), he's good around the basket, has been getting to the FT line lately, and has a nice post game. I honestly see no reason why he cannot keep this up and average 18-20 ppg on good shooting numbers. The tools are there, the hard work and dedication is there, and the the flashes are there.

I'd like to see him back at 3/18 if possible, but it of course depends completely on the market out there. Just don't overpay him.

You can't really down play his production over the last few months. I would love to have him back, reasonable of course. The Denver model, keep that in mind, no star, just a lot of good players, keep acquiring talent.

    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
    • There is zero reason to sit him if he is ready to go.  Putting him on a shelf and attempting to protect does him no favors.
    • Stroud us nit the first QB thus franchise has missed on. He also won't be the last.
