Dear Local Sports Reporters....

No one is physically at a computer all day "on" twitter, people periodically update twitter as most have it as an app on their phones.

Please tell me how the hell was Gantt more efficient at his job than Person? Person is literally one of the worst beat writers compared to the others, using Twitter as an excuse for Person's delayed reports...pathetic.

There's plenty of workers who "don't get paid much"(teachers, police officers, to name a few), but I bet they still grind it out. He's a fuging reporter, report the damn news.

Exactly, I've gravitated towards French presses and the Italian style percolator things. Some things just don't need to be any easier to do. Slow down and enjoy the finer things...

mmmm...french press. i don't think i've used it in a couple weeks. gonna have to use that for my afternoon coffee.

one thing I'm going to get soon is a costa rican coffee maker. i mean i could make one, but I've got a buddy from there who is supposed to pick one up for me when he goes back in the summer. good stuff, tho. it takes some time to make it, but its so worth it.

when I'm at my computer I'm running something that updates all my feeds automatically every few minutes and i get a pop up on my screen for every tweet so I'm kind of on twitter all day. not sure why, tho. it's a pretty big distraction.

All of that technology and time they put into it is why they can tell you if it's going rain or not and how cold it is going to be!

They put a lot of technology and time to making a hamburger at McDonalds, but don't show me how a cow was systemically transferred into a Big Mac before I order one.

Do you really understand barometric pressure and know what to do with that information?

Breaking news from Joe Person, Deangelo Stewart's contract will automatically void after this year. Wait, I mean Cam Newton has signed a 10 year extension.

GUYS SORRY I'M AT A JUSTIN BIEBER CONCERT, Panthers sign Terrell Owens to a lifetime contract worth 120 million guaranteed.

Stop trying to report "Breaking News". Those services are no longer needed. There is a massive world wide instant breaking news platform, its called Twitter. Let the actual players and teams announce that crap. They no longer need you to distribute that information.

Now, what to do with all that extra time I saved you? How about interesting in depth long form content. We have new players we know nothing about. We have a new OC with big question marks. There are tons of stories out there for the taking if you reporters would start...reporting.

I actually liked this. Thank you. Don't give me two paragraphs a half day late. Give me something new and interesting. Do some work that takes more than a couple minutes of reading someone else's article to create.

I think its funny people were/are cracking on Person for breaking news from that concert the other night. The dude took his teenage daughter to a concert, probably got a text from someone he knows in the organization, and did his best to get out the information to everyone who craves it. I agree he could do more in-depth analysis of transactions/story lines, but whatever.

The best beat reporter in Charlotte is Rick Bonnell. He breaks some news, but always does his best to give his analysis about the team also.

Person-ally, I say, everyone should enjoy this tech to their hearts ccontent. If you are into it, go for it. If, like I and a few others, and don't want a clue, leave me out of it.

Never let anyone tell you your aren't cool. Ignore me so you can tell your 45,739 friends, there is a cute blond at the bar.

Back in the day, in the good ol' days...

To a certain extent, yes.

So, care to elaborate on why you and most people need to know barametric pressure?

My point is-- the graphics, the 3-D maps with special effects, the doplar radar, the dramatic meteorologists...and they still can't tell you if it is going to snow or not. It is more appearance than substance. In most all cases, people simply want to know what the weather will be like today and tomorrow, and they take up 10 minutes of time not getting to the point and then fly through 48 scores from 3 sports in 23 seconds.

In fact, TV sports and weather reporting is rather stupid because people can google and get updated results instantly. TV is funny because they try to keep you viewing through teases and misleading statements. "There is snow in the forcast--how much and where, at 6:00." I just grab my computer and see that they were actually referring to flurries in Boone.
