Honestly am I the only one way more excited about our defense than our offense?

I'm in a dire need to see our defense get back to its nasty ways...my favorite player of all time may be Jerry Rice, but my heart always beats for the defense.

People seem to forget we had a top 10 defense on paper at the end of the season. That's with some scrubs in the secondary as well. We have the best 4-3 DE tandem in the league and when healthy a top 5 4-3 LB core. We really just need a dominant DT, starting CB and a maybe another starting S. I'm fuging pumped for our defense what say you?!

Also even though this is a bleacher report article and he made some questionable calls on a few spots we have 3 DEs in the top 50. Goes by overall stats when on field.

yup. you are. no starting caliber defensive backs, linebackers that could break a second's notice, and still lacking defensive tackle. If we finish in the top 30 in D next year it'll be a miracle.

I don't even see how this is even possible. The defense hasn't gotten worse in the off-season. I thinking losing Gamble hurts, but he didn't even play last year so that's a moot point. Plus they still have the opportunity to improve in the draft. No way we're even close to the bottom in D next year.

What have we done on offense to make any of us excited about it. Of course, we're excitied about the defense with the new additions. I don't care what anyone say about our corners being too small. We're better there now than last year. Secondary is going to be fun to watch this season!

Agreed. Gamble barely played and stunk when he did.

We are suiting up a top 10 defense for sure unless we totally screw up the rest of free agency and the draft. Find a decent CB and draft a DT at 14 and we could be top 5.

Let that Homer flag fly high.

Alexanders' developement was huge. It allowed Hardy to move inside on passing downs giving us 4 proven pass rushers. Teams will find it difficult to block them with just 5 OLmen. They will have to keep players in to help protect their QB. Meaning less players out on routes.

With fewer patterns being run it should help our young DBs look and feel better. The possibility they can improve on last year is very good. Throw in an obove avg. LB corp. And this D should be pretty darn good. Add in a healthy, hopefully, Beast. And the giddy level over the D should be through the roof.

An exciting and explosive O, coupled with a very capable D, should have every Panther fans excitement level soaring.

Great offenses are always fun, but i will always enjoy watching a good defensive battle any day.

I loved watching our defense last season, and yeah, defense wins championships... but a good offense is still the best defense. If Cam can learn to consistently go on those long ass clock-eating scoring drives like he did against Atlanta, and then we put a rested up defense consisting of CJ, Keek, and the Kraken back on the field to make work of the opposing team's offense--well, there's no telling how good this team has the potential to be. What was Atlanta's time of possession in the first half, like 5-6 minutes or something? That's how you beat mother fugers, and we were on the wrong side of the time of possession battle far too often last year.

I love me some Cam, but it all starts with him. The defense gave us quite a few opportunities to win a few more games last year even if they did fail us in some crucial moments.

after draft and all of FA.....maybe. Secondary is still a joke and nothing at DT. I would imagine Hardy/CJ won't be able to lead the NFL in pressures per snap 2 years in a row as well....that is expecting a lot from them to mask things.

I would expect Frank Alexander to improve this year but I am seriously concerned with our secondary.i think they will draft or bring someone in at NT.We really need a road grader to get the most from Luke. i never thought I would be worried about the performance of Beason but I do wonder how he will do on the outside.
