Been watching Patterson highlights

I think Justin hunter is still the better of the receivers from Tennessee this year. Y'all may think I'm crazy but you just watch

:

I agree. He was the QB favorite target (coming off a ACL). Face the best CB on the opponents team most of the time. And is just as physically gifted as Patterson. Plus a more polished WR day one.

why spend a #1 pick on a project QB?

playing DA here, but the guy has a special ability to become an elite WR and has played 1 year of major college football. with his skill set, and some coaching he could become a big time talent. he could help in the return game as well, but Ginn is here for that. not taking Patterson may be the reason why Ginn was brought in, and the panthers may want a more polished WR like Allen or Hopkins.

I don't think comparing Patterson to Cam is a good idea

it is more so about thinking a guy who needs developing can contribute to a team in a major way.every rookie needs to develop.

you also draft the guy not just on what he's accomplished, but what you think he can accomplish given the right coaching.

you look at what he comes to the table with and how coachable he is.

some players you like because of how polished and pro ready they are. others you like because of their potential...their ceiling and their ability to reach it. if you're a good enough scout, you can see those things when they're there and that's what people are seeing with patterson. they see raw, but they also see potential that too most people is worth dealing with the raw aspects.

there are no sure things in any pick. rare is the guy that is truly safe. the trick is just getting guys you think can contribute the most...make the biggest impact given the right coaching and development.

patterson is a swing for the fences type player. you know the threat this guy is with the ball in his hands. you know the natural ball catching skills are there. you know he's shown growth and that he is coachable. you draft him because you think you can work with what he has and develop those areas that he's deficient in. that's pretty much what we did with cam. that's what some team is going to do with patterson.

And what you keep missing when you repeat this Mantra is. Cam had the greatest season of any QB in history of college and dominated the best conference in college football with a avg. Team around him. Patterson didn't do that as a WR.

Plus the fact that QB's are over drafted anyway. Ponder and Locker were top 15 picks. Geno Smith will be one this year even thoe some scouts doubt he is a franchise QB.

Patterson Dominated on his team..... lol to think other wise is silly.

He broke Tennessee's single season mark for yards from scrimmage, broke the SEC's Total KR (PR and KR combined) average record. 2nd highest KR of all time in a single season in SEC history.

Scored touchdowns 4 different ways plus threw for one, Doesn't happen that often in College football at all. (First time 4 td's 4 different ways has been done since 2008)

24 KR for 671 yards - 1 touchdown

4 PR for 101 yards - 1 touchdown

25 rushes - 308 yards - 3 touchdowns

46 catches - 778 yards - 5 touchdowns

That's 1858 yards on 99 touches with 10 touchdowns. Average of nearly 19 yards a touch and an average of 154 total yards per game at almost a touchdown per game. That's domination if you ask me.

so having the best all purpose season in the SEC is not great either?look man you do not have to defend your hate for him to every person in every thread. it is very tiresome, and old.

He didn't dominate as a actual WR. All the all purpose stuff is nice addition but I we want him to be a WR who dominate as a WR. Cam dominated as a QB.

This is my problem with some of you people. Why is it you can state your love for a player in every thread you want. But I can't detail his flaws without 1 hating him (which I don't) or 2 being told to stop expressing my opinion.

Your post just told me. You can't debate me and you want me to stop because you can't come up with a valid point I can't dispute.
