My case on not listening to anyone case about the drafting any position.

you have nothing to with this. he posted a comment for his debate on something he misread which is a fact. inorder to fix that it must be brought up. the fact is the guy did say he would be a top 3 in next years draft. kkl posted asking which teams are taking him top 3 in this years draft. whats wrong with that

And the point is their is no way in hell a scout is saying that.

1st their is no link to these Comments at all.

2. look at the prospects coming out next year how is he a top 3 pick

.

You have the best DE to come out since JP (Clowny)

You have 2 QB (Brigdewarter, Manziel) and QB's all ways get extra look and go higher then people think.

Then you have the 2 OT that went back to school who would have been 1st round picks this year.

Then you have better WR's in (Lee and Watkins)

I don't see how any scout can say a player that's not the best prospect this year is a top 3 next year.

You've missed the NFL.com scout profile saying he's one of the most gifted WR of the past few years? Not only have I posted here in quotes but I've linked it a dozen times by now. Mayock says he's a top ten prospect now in this draft. Kiper said he was a top 15 guy back in December before his combine blew his stock up and said he could be a top 5 guy in next years draft. I've linked that before as well.

http://www.nfl.com/d...on?id=2540145 check what it says in the bottom line. Here I'll quote it again for you.

He may be considered raw with his ability to handle physical coverage, but Patterson is one of the more naturally talented pass catchers to come along in the last few years.

That doesn't mention names, but check the wr's of the past few drafts. AJ Green, Julio Jones, Dez Bryant.... That's directly saying he's one of the most talented of the last few years, which is in fact putting him in that company.

http://blogs.knoxnew...and-others.html

Mel Kiper's latest on Tennessee prospects Cordarrelle Patterson, Justin Hunter and others

On WR Cordarrelle Patterson:

He's still not where he needs to be from route running and being the complete receiver ready for the NFL. Is he NFL-ready? Physically, he is. He still needs to work on some things. You take him, you coach him up, and you figure you're getting a guy that, if he goes back to Tennessee, could be a top-five pick. I have him at 11 right now. With another year, if Tyler Bray goes back, he puts up the numbers, new coaching situation at Tennessee, (Patterson) could be a top-five guy. If he comes out, he's maybe more of a mid-first - maybe a little earlier than that, because this draft is not that strong at the top. He's got to weigh some things there."

That's directly from Kiper Jr, and damn do I hate using it.

This is from RotoWorld, but Mayock says it in the video here as well > Link check about 40 seconds into the video, he calls him one of the two most explosive players in the draft and a top ten talent.

Here's the link to Mayock from rotoworld. http://www.rotoworld...relle-patterson

NFL Network's Mike Mayock believes Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson is a top 10 talent, but admits he likely won't be selected there.

Mayock made sure to note that Rams GM Les Snead was in attendance at Tennessee's pro day. Patterson is an electric playmaker with the ball in his hands and generated separation despite poor routes. Along with refinement, Patterson would be smart to catch fewer passes with his body.

These are all links I've used before in our discussion about Patterson.

These are all links I've used before in our discussion about Patterson.

1. It says one of the more talented natural pass catcher not most talented WR. Plus in the same analysis they talk about unfocus drops and body catching also not being ask to high point a ball. So it actually contradicts itself. Again there is more to being a Wr then good speed and natural hands.

2. You are taking 1 line from a breakdown and forgetting the rest a lot.

3. You poo on kiper but will use him to make a point. Not to mention he said could be but there were a lot of factors to that could be. Tyler Bray coming back (not happening). Better coaching and better numbers. The same thing was for Landry Jones, Matt Barkley and Vontez Burffick.

4. Plain and simple if he was in AJ Green and Julio's category. Then we are not talking about him as a option at 14. He would be like Jockel no need to mention him because he won't make it to us.

He's drops is over rated with a 4% drop rate, which I mentioned before as well. I mentioned the route running and the mental lapses already on here. I'm not forgetting anything or not mentioning things. I've mentioned both multiple times. Heck both those items are in my mock draft over view on him.

I've also posted direct stats that contradict the mental lapses and drop issues. When I originally mentioned the Kiper information, I told you I wasn't going to post it because it was from Kiper. You kept asking for links so I finally said screw it and added it to the other links I've been using.

Regardless, Mayock, Kiper and plenty of other draft teks have him rated in the top 10 or damn close to it. Scouts have similar ratings for him as well and his football IQ question marks have been proved false by plenty of people not just his coaches.

His one weakness is route running, which is easily fixable. A top 5-10 guy falling to number 14 makes him the BPA and fits in with Carolina's needs.

Even if you like Lafell, he's not a #1 WR in the NFL which means with Smith aging and wanting to be a slot guy the Panther's have a direct need at WR.

Sure the team has needs in other places as well, most bad record teams have more then one need.

1. Nobody talking about his drop rate just the fact he is a body catcher.

2. And there are other scouts who don't rate him as high. Again it's not a consensus.

3. He has more then 1 weakness. Now you have cut down all his weaknesses to 1. Really??

4. Why is no team in the top 5 considering him as a pick if he's top 5 like you keep saying?

5. I understand 89 age and Lafell not being a number 1. But Patterson isn't considered a sure fire number 1 wr either. I know this might seem strange to you but some scouts see him a Boom or Bust prospect.

His weakness is his rawness and route running, everyone keeps saying mental lapses and body catching. You don't have a 4 percent drop rate as a body catcher and that low drop rate shows the mental lapses aren't accurate or as common as reported or believed to be by some scouts.

His high football IQ and size, speed and athleticism make the route running less of a question mark. Plus the guy is amazing with the ball in his hands.

The majority of scouts have him as the highest rated WR, which means it's close enough. There's always a group of scouts with a different opinion.

Teams and GM's make mistakes every year and in each draft, Bowman was a second rounder and is now one of the best ILB in the NFL. Brady was a 6th rounder and is one of the greatest QB's of all time. Ryan Leaf was considered by some to be a better prospect then Manning. I could go on and on, but I'll stop there because that effectively shows the stupidity of NFL GM's when they get desperate.

He;s got the talent to come in and start immediately and in his first major level college season he was a first team All SEC performer. That makes him as sure fire of a prospect as you can get in the NFL draft process.

1. His low drop rate is due more to the way they use him then him. Out of his 46 rec. 65% to 70% were on slants, comebacks, screens and crossing routes. He did some deep routes but most of his drops happen there. Even you're scouting breakdown talks about him not being ask to make jump ball catches and high point the ball in the air. So he didn't have to make a lot of difficult catches.

Not to mention a lot of his touches came from hand off and reverses.

2. I'll give him speed and athleticism but the high IQ thing is yet to be proven. Until we can see how long it takes and how well he picks up a Playbook. But speed and athleticism doesn't make you a good route runner. Technic does. Again Jerry Rice wasn't fast or uber athletic but was one of the best route runners ever.

3. It's about a 50/50 judgment on the best WR in this draft (which again most scout say doesn't have a AJ Green, Megatron type in it.) Austin is getting a lot of votes for the best WR in this draft as well. So is Allen.

4.

4.So do scouts and analyst. I just hope we don't take the risk of drafting Patterson so high. I hope Gettle goes for the safer prospects in Allen or a WR in the 2nd round. If we have to get a WR this year.

5. He got talent to start for a teams like the Jets, Minny and St. Louis. Just to name a few. But I doubt seriously he beats out Lafell or Smith here.
