Free agents we should look to acquire

Gettleman has stated he would sign vets to fill needs and draft BPA to improve the team. He has signed Cole and resigned Edwards at the DT position. I think he might sign one OL vet and perhaps a TE (Winslow). If he can pull this off, we will have the best free agency in years. It makes the draft exciting to see the G-man work. Go Cats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dunno if we have the $ at this point.

I will agree it's the weakest spot on the OL.

Hangman just can't handle starting for whatever reason.

I think that we may make a move if we can find an upgrade at RG that is willing to come in on a one year contract and for a reasonable price.

My question is whether an upgrade at that position is really available under those circumstances.

i think RG is likely the position we take care of before the draft.

Yes, I see it. I do not think free agency is that great at G, but it is hard to know how good other teams' guards are--based on reading only. I (like Kurb) am concerned that Gettlemen has yet to address the OL, specifically, the right side-more specifically, RG.

I considered RG and DT huge needs when Dwan was here. Gettlemen had done very little in these areas--I know this is March and the man is still on it...

What scares me is this: Gettlemen thinks Garry Williams and Hangartner are good veterans there.

I refuse to believe that right now.

Good question.

I understand the 1-year contract concept--I think Gettlemen is doing what he has to do. I am guessing that they do not want that kind of turnover on the OL.

Booth would have been I believe. IMO the only reason he signed with the Giants instead of was familiarity/moving. He only got a 1 year deal with them as I recall.
