Panthers Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

The first 2 picks are for Cam, so heres how I think things should go.

1st round-Tavon Austin WR WVU 5-8 175. People say no because he is small and they think he'll have injury issues, but if you look at his college career he didn't miss a game. People think he compares to Percy Harven, they play the same position but no Percy is bigger and stronger. But my personal opinion he compares to Darren Sproles quick and elusive but and I know that Darren play RB and not WR but they both can cause the same problems

2nd round-Larry Warford OG KU 6-3 333 a big man that we need and that Cam and our RBs need he is a big run blocker that can open the lanes and some of yall are probably saying we need a DT well not this round.

4th round Zaviar Gooden OLB MIZZO 6-2 235 a smaller LB but fast off the edge and can play sideline to sideline. He could fall to this round but could be taken earlier because of his speed, and it seems like the panthers really liked him during that private workout.

5th round-Akeem Spence DT IU 6-1 305 he's an up and down player but when he plays good its like wow. he can play the run (something we need) yall are probably going to comment why this guy or id whether have taken a DT earlier, here's what im going to say DT bust rate is unbelievable so let take one in the later rounds.

6th round- Travis Howard CB OU 6-1 205 a big corner that is physical at the line and has speed to hang in with the faster WRs.

I don't want Austin at 14. Much rather a trade down or go with a different WR or a CB/DT etc.

Honestly won't mind Warford as we do need need to sure up the O-line. If someone like Hankins or Jessie Williams is there, I would take either one, assuming a DT wasn't chosen in the 1st.

Like the other picks given the other guys chosen before, though I would like to see a Kicker in the 6th and maybe a S.(Really wish we somehow get extra picks.)

we probably wont trade dont even tho I like to get extra pick I just don't see it, Austin is probably the best prospect in the draft he'll make our offense so dynamic just picture Cam in the gun with DWill beside him and Stew on the other side and having Smith on one side of the field and Austin lined up with Lafell it would be so hard for defenses to cover us. And I just dont get the point of drafting a kicker in the 6th or 7th round

Don't like. I think DT and CB are a bigger need then you think.

And I'm not questioning Austin toughness at all. I just don't like the scheme fit for this team.

DT bust rate is a lot better then people think. The last 4 years 16 DT have been taking in the 1st round and only 1 has been a bust.

But the year before Ellis, Balmer, and Dorsey all busts. I like how you pro DT guys decide that 2009 draft is where you pick to start. Hood and Odrick are ends Impossible to grade anythinig post 2011 yet...for anyone to think they can is silly.

Our offense needs a proper deep threat rather than that gimmicky offense you are envisioning. I'm not buying into the Austin hype. He's a small slot WR. No way we should select him at 14. If we trade back into the mid-late 20's and Tavon is still there, I would have 0 problem with that pick.

We need a K. Nothing wrong with drafting a K in the later rounds, especially when that K will be here for a long time.

Even if you did go back to 2008 that would still only be 4 out of the 19 picks that were bust. Stll not hurting the % very much in the last 5 years are you???

okay just to let you know the panthers are going to be picking bpa and Austin is going to be best player available

Neither 1 of you know what the panthers will do and who is the best player on their board.

Nobody does so I wouldn't be so sure with your opinion.

spare me with the BPA. that is so subjective. there is no "best player meter".

At best you can group players into tiers as to what you expect them to be / become

Tier 1 - Franchise / Perennial Pro Bowlers

Tier 2 - Very Good / Numerous Pro Bowls

Tier 3 - Better than average / 1-2 Pro Bowls

Tier 4 - Average / Serviceable Player / NFL Journyman
