Why Passing on a WR in the first might not be a option

This fanbase I swear.

"LET'S KEEP PASSING ON WR TALENT LET'S FIND THAT DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH I MEAN IT WORKED WITH ARMANTI."

I mean seriously this Fanbase gets upset when Hurney tried to do that but then still wants Gettlemen to do it and this is why our roster is so weak holy poo.

your're trying to hard and making general assumptions.. piss off

You can grab a servicable guard in the 4th round.

I just think 14 is a reach with this WR class. The mediocre guys look better because the top end talent isn't there. Shore up the interior with this draft class then look to the outside in 2014.

Why in the world would I take a guard in the first when I can grab a guard of about equal talent in the 5th?

What a mighty fine way to waste my draft pick.

Also a good thing you added the year at the end of your post or else I would have had to double check the date

"We really need a LB this year, wait until 2005!"

"wait until 2006!"

"wait until 2007, we need a power back this year!"

"wait until 2008!"

..FIVE YEARS PASS..

"wait until 2014!"

Maybe we should draft full back at 2nd while we at it? Do you know that every 1st round guard from last year totally failed? Decastro who was projected to be the next HOF flopprd for Steelers. And that fireman Guard Eagles got was a complete bust last year. You can get a good Guards in later rounds.

Decastro broke his leg and that guard for the eagles was some 28 year old fireman turned OL. Not the same as Cooper or Warmack.

Can't pass the ball if you can't protect the QB. Give me a plug and play guard or tackle at 14 instead of a project WR like Patterson. We are gonna be mediocre this year anyway. Go WR in 2014.

This.

I'd love to have a great WR prospect come to the panthers, but the fact of the matter is we have bigger, more important holes to fill for now. To be a successful franchise, you need to:

1. Get a QB

2. Give him protection

3. Give him weapons

Even though Steve is old, at least we have an aging elite receiver. That added with Olsen and Lafell makes our receiving corp serviceable while we build a good o-line.

I would think with having a QB who could be the GOAT, people would want to make sure he doesn't get injured ever....

Funny how you want to do that with the DT position. Which is just as important.

Exactly. The Saints shitty ass defensive line busted right up the middle and injured cam in that last game. But hey if Patterson was there running a slant Cam would have been fine....LMAO. If I'm GM, I'm using this draft to protect Cam and Luke.

ah yes and right on cue here's kkl to explain to us why brandon lafell deserves another year to show "this is the year he become "dominate" guys!!!"

Oh here goes growl ducking and dodging somebody else's point. By mention something from another thread. Since you missed the point let me repeat it. Teams draft on both what a player can be day one and his potential.
