Why Passing on a WR in the first might not be a option

Thanks Mr. Spellcheck, didn't know this was English class.

I respect and love Smittle but elite recievers get his catches and yards plus the TDs. Smith doesnt get it done when it comes to scoring touchdowns in these last few years. which is way we need more, "Playmakers and Touchdown Scorers" (Gettlemen) which equals a better WR core.

i agree we need more playmakers.

But not at the expense of reaching for one.

There isn't a wr in this draft class that is worth our first pick...IMO.

where would you take a WR in the 1st? the 20 range?

is there really a big difference in talent in this draft after the 12th pick if nobody great talent drops more than they should?

i dont think so

Not all will be panthers(Stating the obvious)

im not dick riding alot of anything. im just saying despite if you think that there are no true elite WR in this draft it doesnt mean there arent any impact WR/eventual elite WR. inorder to get one of those needs out of this draft we have to go that direction in the first two rounds.

And that's the difference. I see impact and improvement in other position we can draft. I also see improvement in a scheme change and better usage of the player/weapons we already have.

So while your stuck on one thing I am not.

There is a difference just not in the position you want.

Patterson is not the on the same level prospect as Cooper and Warmack at guard.

And I don't want to draft a guard that high but I can recognize the difference in the prospects.

And that's you being close minded. Lafell was only 323 yards away from 1,000. While missing 2 and a half games and be targeted 76 times 1 of the lowest for #2 wr in the league.

Maybe if given more opportunities he would reach your bench mark.

maybe if he got open more he could get those 323. 323 is a ways from 1000. i just dont understand why you cant see that adding an impact wr would help lafell's chances of reaching these numbers

Another stupid point you can't prove.

How many times did Cam force the ball into double coverage to Smith?

Or how many times is Boldin open when he get targeted?

It's not always so cut and dry when a WR doesn't get the targets.

I just can't see how you don't think a better scheme and better usage of the Run game better Oline play and more opportunities won't help him or others hit those numbers . Again you're only looking at 1 thing.

i never said those things wouldnt help those numbers. i just mentioned one thing that would. your always trying to say what i dont mention instead of paying attention to what i do. if i had to type everything i thought could increase a players reception it would be a essay. another impact wr could help lafell get more space and separation im sure there are other factors that could increase this as well.

no you dont. you bring up stuff from left field like you just did. the topic is passing on a wr in the first. so i was only talking about the impact another WR can have on this team. not about scheme of them not getting enough targets(excuses) like you do

you also dont change scheme for a #2/#3 WR if Lafail cant be productive in our current scheme then maybe the panthers arent for him. complaining on the fact that teams use different systems is the reason why there numbers are better than lafail doesnt help the panthers at all. we need our recievers to put up productive numbers in our scheme

You change scheme when your offense isn't helping your QB take the next step in his development. Which our offense wasn't doing at the beginning of the season.

Which effected the offences as a whole. WR's RB's Oline and Cam.
