This thread needs to be shut down bc of the Adam Sandler movies totally killed my laugh buzz..and for me the funniest movie of last 10 years is 40 yr old virgin and Forgetting Sarah Marshall..

Just the convo about owning a framed ASIA poster kills me..and I managed at a Circuit City in the past so the " Yamo be there" Michael McDonald video on the closed circuit tv all day will make you go nuts..

No one mentioned 21 Jump street?

That was surprisingly really funny to me. I was expecting like a "Dukes of Hazzard" remake and never thought it could be it's own stand alone franchise.

Reno 911 and Super Troopers is really funny too..bc dumb cops give me the gigglez.

I think 21 Jump Street was mentioned a couple times in this thread. That movie underhelmed me. I think maybe I was expecting too much based on what I had heard about it.

Dumb and Dumber ... still tops em all

Problem: over 10 yrs (yes, over 10 yrs :o ) and really dated now..like Something About Mary lost all its shock factor when you watch it now. They are jokes even Jay Leno makes now.

I watched Chasing Amy last year and its amazing how sex stories and lesbian relationships have been portrayed on regular media and TV show when that used to be shocking n edgy.

Now its on ABC family..

Evolution of Humor(or DeEvolution to some) is really interesting.

It seems to really separate the generations just as you hear someone say SNL aint funny no mo.(hasnt watched more than 3 skits in 30 yrs) and quotes how John Belushi acting as a Samurai is much Hilario. Not wrong just not as relevant or timeless.

Now there are classics but I think that is it dates one on the references that are nuanced to the times in some cases. Spinal Tap and CB4 comes to mind..and plays on the attitude and trends of the time.

Now Monty Python's The Holy Grail, Coming To America, and Clerks(15 yrs!) is my trilogy of way back when.
