Kellen Winslow?

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported a week ago that the Oakland Raiders are interested in free-agent tight end Kellen Winslow now that his knee is in better shape than it was last season.

Appearing on "NFL AM" on Monday, Winslow revealed that he's also heard from the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers.

The Browns' interest is no surprise. New head coach Rob Chudzinski is tight with Winslow after coaching him at the University of Miami as well as in Cleveland. It remains to be seen if Winslow is still on the radar following the Kellen Davis signing.

The Panthers have been looking for a second tight end to pair with Greg Olsen.

Winslow "definitely" plans on playing in 2013, attributing his disappearing act last season to other priorities involving family matters. The key will be convincing the Raiders, Browns or Panthers that he's healthy and fully committed to football.

I hated his attitude when he was with the Bucs, but I also hated Shockey. I would give him a chance if cheap. We need some attitude on the team once and awhile.

Not excited about it, but if healthy he has definitely hurt us in the past. Could be an upgrade?

I would think he joins Chud's traveling tight end circus in Cleveland, but I'd be pretty happy with him as a 2nd TE. He isn't nearly what he used to be, but he's better than our second receiving option at the position.

Meh just draft a guy in the 7th round and see what happens. Winslow is old and oft-injured and why should teams expect anything different? I don't understand why they let go of Shockey in the first place...must have been a locker room thing because he played pretty well on the field in 2011. Barnidge really did a whole lot of nothing last year besides that one catch against the Eagles.

Last time we signed a trouble making tight end, it turned out well. Wouldn't mind him, definitely a upgrading(pass catching wise) over Barnidge and especially Hartstock.
