I really think Austin's more than a slot receiver. He's quicker, tougher and stronger than your typical speed guy. He had to learn a new position in college and achieved that in stride. This shows that he's decently smart. What makes someone a #1 receiver is their ability to stretch the field and beat top corners. Can Austin get separation against top cover guys? I think so. He's certainly not someone you can beat with just bump and run; nor is he someone that has to win early, because he has elite top speed.

Patteson can play slot with austins talent and eventually move to the outside. Him being covered by a nickel wound increase his immediate impact

And people didn't think Cam was a real QB. Wah wah wah, players get questioned. It's up to them to man up and prove everyone wrong.

In my opinion, Austin will be a solid slot receiver and return man while he's young, and then will just be an average slot receiver for the back half of his career. He'll stop doing what he's best at which is returning the ball when he thinks he's too good for that. Happens all the time.

Yeah, but Smith had a 20+ avg per catch. Something Tavon does not have. So it makes sense we doubt Tavon even more.
