If you play hold em choosing how to play based on casino its super important. Going to play at mandalay bay, belligio or ceasars People with too much money will call anything so pick your spots don't chase anything just lay it down and wait. When you finally hit a big hand you will win big. Playing with a younger crowd at somewhere like planet hollywood its time to throw your weight around. People that are scared to lose money will be evident and easy to pick on. Poker is the only game that the house wins every single time, but its also your best chance to win money. Both trips I have taken I have won 5,000 - 6,000 but dont feel bad for vegas, all the money stayed there. In their bars and clubs. Also go when its super hot, the pools are great!

What are your outfit plans? Dayglo and neon? Skimpy?

No idea yet, it is your chance to wear a crazy ridiculous outfit so I might as well buy something insane.

I'm waiting for the lineup to release before we finalize our tickets but based on the Chicago lineup it looks like it'll be pretty good

I've been there several times since 2005. I even got married there!

I think the first thing you should do is to kind of abandon all expectations. The only reason I say that is because spending time in one hotel/casino will likely be a drastically different experience for you than the next.

For instance at the far south end of the strip on any given evening, Mandalay Bay will likely be home to a variety of douche-types in Affliction t-shirts and flat-billed hats making fools of themselves along with the women they're likely to chase. The next 3 major places moving up the strip (Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana) are less dazzling places inhabited by thrifty older-folks and families.

Downtown Vegas (compared to The Strip) is much less expensive and can be fun for sure, but things just aren't as nice. It's very old-school Vegas.

From my experience, a middle-ground place to stay with a good location is Treasure Island. It's one of the more diverse casinos in terms of clientele and has some really lovely rooms. It's situated so that you can easily visit places like the Venetian (which is awesome), Bellagio, Cesar's, Wynn, and lots of others.

Here's my best tip though if you have any inclinations towards gambling and aren't wealthy. Make a daily budget. Get it out in cash and leave your credit/ATM cards in the safe in your room. Keep your gambling cash separate from your food/drink/etc. cash.

The temptation to go get more money when you bust out is strong, but don't do it.

My wife and I have always used this system and it's never let us down. Often times, we don't even go through our entire budget if we get on a hot streak one night.

And when you lose money, and you will, don't worry about it. If you've budgeted things out, it just becomes entertainment money and winning is not the object, but a pleasant treat should it actually happen.

Yeah budget is defintely key, I usually set aside food money, party money, gambling money for the day. If I win at the poker tables for the day I add to the party money first then to the food money. Regardless vegas gets all the money. I did like 20.00 for food a day, 200 for good time, 300 for gambling. So if you lose your eating mcdonalds and going to the club/strip club but not doing anything fancy but still having a good time. If you win then just ball out and enjoy it. Just go with the expectation that whatever max you planned on spending will be gone regardless of how much money you win. Also only slot you should play is wheel of fortune.

True story me and my buddy met some rhino girls on the strip, they were going to a bar to meet up with some of their co-workers. Gave us the invite, our flight was leaving in 2 hours!!!!!!! We should have changed flights, awful decision!!!
